Just over one year ago, I began looking into my Bowen family history.
While visiting in South Carolina, we visited Kings' Mountain. I am in awe of our ancestors!

My father and grandparents are buried at the Methodist Church cemetary in Walhalla, SC -- not far from Kings Mountain.

Father: Boone M. Bowen, Jr.
Grandfather: Boone M. Bowen, Sr.
Grandmother: Julia Lake Stevens Bowen

There is an infant daughter to my grandparents buried in the same plot as my grandmother.

I am 7th generation from Moses and Rebecca Bowen

Lots of "Rebecca" descendents, aren't there?

I am the 5th great-granddaughter of Moses Bowen. I have my line as well as many of the other children along the line. I hope to create a webpage full of info. I have traced Moses' line back 40 or 50 generations back. Here is some information.

My great grandfather's name was Richard Lewis Bowen. He married Effie Adcock sometime in the mid to late 1800's. Their son, Lloyd Dawson Bowen, is my grandfather, married for only a short time to my grandmother, Illa Dement.

I am most interested in tracing both the Bowen and Adcock Cherokee Indian bloo line, but in my early search, I have found no records because I do not know where or when any of these were born.

I do know that my father, Leonard Dawson Bowen, was born in Bloomburg, Texas, on January 28, 1920.

Do you recognize any of the names, and can you help me find any other information about my Bowen genealogy?

Hi Patricia,normally I do not contact anyone on the geneology sites but our similarities are very stricking. My grandfathers are Gordon Bowen and James Dilard Adcock. Ironically, my mother's name is Patricia Bowen.

I think I'm 9th generation from moses. any info beyound Moses helpful.
