So Papua New Guinean discussing PNG issues on foreign Land. The whole KSI concept was well formulated in the days of Tony Declyn, Toni Smare - Nathan Winghti Takale Tuna and all the rest of the tribe.......Now onus was to change for the better - Now KSI is I hope another avenue of Australian propaganda -
Do we want change - forget all the concept of the white man - Lets get back to basics.....The white man brought rushed education - now there is more educated souls then the required for the existing University - the rest year 12s where are they going to go. Educated rascals. The Australians gave money to downsize our Soldiers....And now we are breeding some greedy filthy pig security firm companies in Lae and POM - growing rich at the expense of crime and the limited space of spaces at Schools - all Grade 12 ex are now enlisting to be security guards.....The pay is **** - K60 - 80 per fortnight. The bulk of the money that this guards sweat for gets in the coffers of those greesy faced security company owners.
They have flashy cars and few concubines to sweat their skulls that normal thoughts are not registered in them anymore/////Thats side tracking but hey KUMUL brains use a cummulative brain powers that you have to devise a plan to difuse this social ill that is sprawlling into our society. Let us change policies.... We talk too much - we have a media that is controlled - tell me how many people in PNG read news papers. Illitracy rate is high meaning information could not be diseminated right through the rural areas.
Mass produce the results of this year's meeting and send me a copie - I will make copies and distribute across the nation. You see a problem - diagnose that problem from all angles and let us all work out an answer.
Let us chase Coca Cola out of PNG - Let us grow own rice - Let us drink Tea instead of Coca- Cola - by the way Coke makes 12 million Kina per week from the 4 highlands province. And Rice - 120 20 foot containers of rice gets distributed in Lae - Highlands gateway per month....That is alot of money getting out of the country.
Spread information on diet - and prevention of diet related diseases. Let us stop betel nut chewing - let us legislate that - stop people from drinking coke - and drink Tea instead. Tea contains anti-toxicants - It will cleanse your system. Small thinks like that.
Our medical schools - problem based - now doctors when they come out will have little footing in the basic medical sciences discipline - but in the practical aspects they would be competent - Now do we want to create brainy Papua New Guineas or the opposite.......
Look at the AusAid scholarship policy - PNG students come to Australia - and get too carried away that when they go back to PNG - they could not cope in their own land - Like aliens in their own land. The course structed for th year 10 - 12 in Australia was a flop -
Only a few recipients became doctors and lawyers - Ask Australia to produce a run down on who they are - an alumini - check their out put in society - present your findings out to the open - it would be interesting to note that...who is who - - -
If you are not aware of anything Honorable Mr Laimo is a former active member of the KSI in the mid 90s. He won in 2002. Why don't the Organisors of KSI ask Mr Laimo Honorable - he would detail you the ins and outs of the Politics of PNG and their rave with Australia at the moment.
KSI - Look at ways of changing the current system that we have......Mental change of the people that is what you pla ol save man traim na discuss.
I should start by commending the current executive of KSI members. You have all my support. I always believe in making a difference in the world especially when important issues are analysed discussed and opinions are presented for decision making. KSI has been a voice and providing that role. Being President of KSI in 2000 I had the previledge of participating with KSI visions and goals then. We were are team that was belnded and united together by love and pride of being Papua New Guineans. We stood tall and making our marks especially in Armidale then in 2000 where we hosted the KSI conference. My heart goes out for PNG when you adire how hard the country has come thru all the struggles and pains of keeping us united despite of all the different ethnic groupings we all represent over the 30 years. Its a miracle, no country in the world is so unique and diverse yet can remain intact. Well folks and all KSI supporters, keep up the good work, keep us posted you have our support.
How is KSI changing anything? Rhetorical questions

These are good comments. Unfortunately, KSI still looks like an organisation of caring people whose actions change nothing. That's not to say that KSI hasn't been active, it simply says that the actions are ineffective and haven't led to the kind of change that will actually solve problems.
Signing petitions and educating ones self is hardly the kinds of actions that are strategic enough that they will set the spark that leads a society to change.
