O.k., so I'm watching the Dallas/Colorado game today (for no obvious reason...wink, wink) when John Davidson began to open his mouth & sound like a complete moron!
He went on & on about how the peole of Pittsburgh have no right to be mad @ Mario for saying that he's worked and trained hard all season to be in shape for the Olympics - Penguins be damned! Fine, be in the Olympics, but why use the NHL as a training facility?! If you don't care how the NHL team you're playing for is performing..if you think taking NHL game after NHL game off to rest for the Olympics if more important than actually playing for the Pens, then retire (again!) To say that you've played all year for the Olympics and not for the fans of Pittsburgh, then Mario, I have lost loads of respect for you. I'm sorry, but if you're playing in the NHL, your goal @ the start of training camp is supposed to be winning the Cup. I don't care if he's already won it. Then, if you don't want it again, retire again. You can train for and play in the Olympics without playing in the NHL. For John Davidson to sit there & say it's o.k. for Mario to say, "To hell with you, Pittsburgh, all I want is a gold medal," well, that's just wrong! The Olympics are over. You've got your gold. Guess you've got nothing else to play for or train for Mario. Just remember, everything you have in life is due to the fact that the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area has dished out the money for your jerseys and bought tickets to watch you play for nearly 2 decades. Better hang 'em up & play a li'l golf instead of actually trying to help the Pens & the people who have supported your a$$ for nearly 20 years! 
Sorry about the rant, just HAD to get that outta my system. 
And John Davidson...the fans of Pittsburgh do NOT owe Mario more than he owes them!
