well...I sorta do it the "old-fashioned"...

guessing way...melt the chocolate chips in a double-boiler pan set or (a large pan full of hot water sorta simmering on the stove - take the smaller pan and put your chips in it - set it down in the water that is boiling/simmering and they should start to melt - wire wisk is a good way to un-lump them)...the parafin wax you put in the chocolate will melt down and the chocolate will sorta lose it's glossy look and be dull - that is when you know it is good for dippin'..now..as to how much wax to put in the chocolate - when the chocolate loses it glossiness I stop with the parafin wax...if you let the wax cool it will start to solidify..so dip that candy...FAST...good luck...
