Hi, Rick!
I'm a middle aged guy who always had someone else handle my investments because I was absolutely naiive about the stock market. But when I retired I wanted to learn how to make money in the market by myself -- without a broker. I knew it was easy because I had heard only success stories. After some losses I knew that I had to do a great deal of studying and learning.

It's been over two years and I've read many books on the market; one of the first was Ted Warren's. And I still believe it's one of the best. Many of the authors had strategies that will tend to work in certain markets [under certain conditions]. I believe Ted's works under all conditions. I joined a couple of investment groups that shared investment strategy ideas. However, they concentrate on Wm O'Neil's ideas, and I've found that I don't particularly feel comfortable with O'Neil's stuff. I've read Stan Weinstein's book and think it's as good as Warren's. Since I don't have the fifteen or 20 years that Warren aimed for I'm combining Ted's ideas with Stan Weinstein's strategy and think the combination will be quite powerful for long or short term wins.

I found this site about a year ago and followed it for awhile. I was a lurker because I generally didn't feel I had much to contribute at that time. I found your [Rick] comments quite good and in contrast to many other sites, quite honest, rather than oriented to self-aggrandizement or money. I don't know what happened, but I hope the site becomes revitalilzed under your direction.

I guess this is enough for now.

Jer
