That is my point exactly!! But there has to be some kind of standard of "attempting to communicate." This standard is what most people use, and is what is in dictionaries. In any dictionary I look in, the pronunciation for potato is "po-tay-to." It is true that that doesn't mean that the guy that says "po-tah-to" is wrong, but it does mean that most people don't say "po-tah-to." When I said "I win" I didn't mean that I was using the word the right way, since there is no "right way." I meant that I was correct that the common usage of infinity was as a number.
