hmm. yeah, this is the "qbasic" forum after all.
i just see freebasic as more of a highly evolved qbasic, than a different language, even though it's different.
so i agree with you... but i also see it much differently.
you make a good point about basica...
although it's hard, as someone who loves fb Because he loves qb, to not admit that for some Tasks fb is more fit... uh..
but there i go again.
still i see them as slightly different takes on the exact same thing. don't feel that way about basica and qb. fb and qb yeah. fb ~ qb.
a side point that's relevent:
there is no qb7.1 we post about it in the main forum like it's really qb7.1 but there is no such thing, it's PDS.
pds ~ qb. i think of freebasic as a new version or free port or a patch... because for my purposes they're that close... if it's silly. ne pas?
but i know...
pds is qb. they really just changed the name. but vb... thats NOT qb. i can't stand vb.
