Hex editing is not programmingby (Login -llipse)
It doesn't really matter how hex editing works; we're discussing programming, and the fact is in every programming language I've ever used the default base is decimal, and to use hexidecimal you need to use a prefix (if hexidecimal is even supported) or indicator of some kind to tell the compiler/interpreter that you're using hexidecimal. Of course hex editors use hex, they're called hex editors for a reason.
The point is, you're wrong in your statement that "Dude, games do use hexidecimal in them". No, games use binary; they're usually programmed in decimal, and your hex editor converts the binary values that were created at compile-time and run-time (usually not design-time; ie during programming) to hexidecimal.
