Haha, the flipping of houses is a probably a shit idea, cause you thought of it. But back at the old city where I used to live, houses where pretty cheap. A decent house could be bought for about 100,000. And there was a poor neighborhood where houses were lcuky to be sold for 30,000 This,I think, was at the year of 2003. And most of them got boarded up. Now 5 years later, a decent house is almost a quarter million, and the poor messed up houses are like 100,000. I am guessing that some house invester had some connection to the banks/government who control the prices, and now he is pretty damn rich.
Also, why are YOU not an opputunist? You probably lived in the days where computers where something no-one knew about. And you say you are a programmer. Why didn't you buy some valuable papers/percent from a what seemed to be a failed poor company like microsoft? And you would be pretty damn rich right now. If computers where something you respect, why not find use of it? I think there are plenty of oppurtunites right now that can make people very rich years from now.
