Christians are no part of the world.

Rick Perry seems to have overlooked certain points.

In John 17:14, Jesus said that he and his followers were no part of the world. Although Jesus would be a king, his kingdom would not be of an earthly source, which he indicated in John 18:36. When people attempted to make him an earthly king, he fled from them, as indicated in John 6:15. Is Rick Perry following our master's example?

In Luke 4:5-8, Satan offers Jesus kingship over all the kingdoms of the earth, in exchange for an act of worship to Satan. Of course, Jesus refused. Note, however, that Jesus did not dispute Satan's claim to be in a position to grant authority over human rulerships. Compare this with John 12:31 and 1st John 5:19.

The Bible tells us at Psalm 146:3: "Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs."

Human politicians today have no power to save humanity, and are not trustworthy. Salvation does not belong to them.

Daniel 2:44 indicates that the United States and the United Kingdom will soon be crushed by Jesus's heavenly kingdom. Would a Christian wish to be president of a doomed government that is in opposition to Jesus's kingdom?

Daniel 7 describes a horn with eyes and a mouth that speaks grandiose words. This horn symbolizes the US and the UK. Verse 26 indicates that its rulership will be taken away, and that it will be annihilated and destroyed totally.

Revelation 19:19-21 says: "And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur. But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them."

So, the wild beast and the kings of the earth will oppose and fight against Jesus, but will lose. The wild beast, which symbolizes all human governments, and the false prophet, which symbolizes the US and the UK, will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Joel 3:12 quotes Jehovah as saying: “Let the nations be aroused and come up to the low plain of Jehoshaphat; for there I shall sit in order to judge all the nations round about." Verse 14 continues: "Crowds, crowds are in the low plain of the decision, for the day of Jehovah is near in the low plain of the decision." Compare also Isaiah 34:2.

Revelation 17:2 and 18:3 indicate that the kings of the earth commit fornication with the great harlot. Was Rick Perry's prayer rally not an example of that?

2nd Peter 3:10 and 12 indicate that the heavens and the elements will be dissolved, and the earth and the things in it will be discovered. Verse 13 says that there new heavens and a new, righteous earth. The heavens symbolize government. The earth symbolizes human society.

Certainly, Jehovah's government with Jesus as King, and the holy ones ruling with him, will replace all human governments. As Psalm 3:8 says, "Salvation belongs to Jehovah."
