Well, I might as well pop my 2-cents in the mix...

The new qbasic.com. Cannot say I care for it. I think I read that Mark is 16; well, it shows. That's a little to young to expect a whole lot. It's still pretty good to be able to 'snatch' a domain and set up a web-site though.
It looks a bit cheap, but again 16, what can you afford at 16? Us old guys have all the good jobs. Of course, he could be from a well-to-do family, so hey, then he's just cheap. Actually, I can respect cheap. (I'm a bit of a cheapskate myself) but you pay for your cheapness, eventually. For instance, those refillable ink cartridges for your printer...forget that! I go to my bank, grab a bunch of those free pens, and spend my evenings squeezing the ink from those little plastic pen tubes into a hole I gnawed in the top of my HP cartridge. BTW - I save all my color printing 'till x-mas (my bank brings out those fancy red and green ink pens for the holidays!) Hey, money's short, times are hard, here's your......x-mas card! (The point is, now I have arthritis in my fingers and yesterday, I had to make another trip to see the dentist!)
OK, get off bit and back on track, the qbasic forum:
I cannot blame anyone for doing whatever he wants to a site that he owns. I can only state what I would do if I owned this forum, which I don't. Personally, I would be OK with Mark or anyone LINKING to this forum (not that you could legally stop anyone from linking to your site, you don't even really own a domain, since the 'court' does not view a domain as 'property') but I would not want this forum to be part of qbasic.com anymore. The 'Qbasic Forum' rates high enough for anyone who wants to find it to find it. This forum does not need some kind of a CLASSIC FORUM idea. IT IS THE QBASIC FORUM, PERIOD! (BTW - I do thank Solitaire for getting Mark to make it the CLASSIC FORUM instead of the way Mark originally coined it, "The Old Forum" but the point is that the whole premise is wrong to me. But hey, I'm not a team player. Like I always say to people who tell me, "Pete, there is no 'I' in team..."Well, maybe so, but there are two-u's in...."
Anyway, that's my 2-cents.
Mac, LOL @ I stand corrected (URL*) I know menn posts there, but I could never find 'where' there, until you put the URL up. Personally, I'm too much the recognition hound to spend time at a place like that. (Frankly, I wish the traffic would pick up more around here, too) However, that site, you might as well go put a note in a bottle and throw it in the ocean as to post on that site and expect it to be seen. Oh, frankly, If I owned this site, I would dispose of the IP address display function. You can always check those in your server logs. No need to have them displayed on the site, unless you think it discourages spamming. OK, so I chucked another penny into the pot, I'll just go grab up some more free pens and get to squeezing.
