4-1-2005 - Tuesday
The police have been trying to contact Peter's parents to tell them that he is in hospital and will be for a couple more weeks yet. I knew that they were away for Christmas - that is why Peter and I had a solitary feast - but I didn't realise that they had gone to Thailand ! Ouch - they may be among the missing after the tsunami and Peter doesn't know yet. And I thought that this year had to be better than the last.
He is still seeing double and is in a really @$%# mood. He doesn't expect his parents to visit as he knows that they are away but he didn't mention where they were, nor did he seem worried about them. I assume that he thought that they were inland when the wave struck. Maybe they were away from the disaster area but one would suppose that they would have been in contact just to say that they are OK. The Embassy in Bangkok is trying to locate them but nobody seems to have any idea what their travel plans were; I gather that they intended to hire a car and drive around the country. Now I understand why the Government has an internet site where you can lodge your travel plans.
Robert dropped in for a cup of tea but wasn't very forthcoming about anything; he just sat and drank his tea and took himself off. I think that his wife must be getting ready to move back with her parents again; I can't think why they don't call it a day - maybe he thinks that he would be obliged to marry me if that happened. He only has to ask and I'd say no so he really has nothing to worry about.
Mandy has recovered from her hangover and has decided to stop binge drinking and lose some weight - I can't believe that girl !!!!!!
