Ooooo! That man is really rather dishy even though he plays the bad cop. I ducked out at lunchtime on Monday and bought myself a gorgeous dress. Of course I was late back to work and Mrs Harmon made me work late yesterday to make up the time but it was worth it. The dress is long and slinky and black with no back to speak of and not very much front either so it had to be stuck on with body tape. I suspect that body tape is the modern day equivalent of the medieval chastity belt - imagine having to carefully peel off one's dress and then carefully peeling off the tape - forget about the lusty bodice rip; it would take half the skin with it.
To make matters worse there was not much that I could wear underneath it as well so I had to have body tape to hold up certain bits of me and that would be seriously unromantic. Mandy helped me to put it on, all the time lamenting that it was going to be next summer before she would be able to get into a dress like that. I don't know how one would manage on one's own!
Anyway - my secret taping remained secret and we had a great time. He took me to a really nice fish restaurant which sort of hangs out over the river so that the city is reflected in the water which was dead calm. It was a hot night with no wind so we sat inside in the air conditioning to avoid the mosquitoes - I had a lot of bare skin and the mozzies carry Ross River virus so I didn't want to be bitten.
Afterwards Miles took me back to his place for coffee (and only coffee - maybe he understands about body tape and its limitations). He lives in a nice unit with river views but no garden - just a balcony as it is on the tenth floor. He said something about needing the security and I guess that some police must feel a bit that way.
Then he took me home and kissed me very chastely on the cheek; but we are going out again on Friday night.
