Important: Maintenance Tuesday Afternoon (US West Coast Time)

We have ordered a bunch of new equipment to replace some aging equipment and intend to install it tomorrow. We are not going to bring search back up until this is completed.

The site may go down globally in the afternoon, or drop into read-only mode. It will take many hours to complete, but we have a detailed plan to make it unnoticable to everyone but for about 30 minutes. Best laid plans are often upset by Murphy's Law, so we are giving everyone a heads up.

We expect this will take about 4 hours of total site downtime (i.e. the entire site will be offline, not just Realms or some other aspect), and we'll probably do this on a weekend so that the impact is minimal.
