Dear visitors of this Network54 sst-forum.
Time has come to overthink the future of this board. Network54 is paid-by-advertisement hoster until one pays for using the software.
As the postings and visits are continuously depreasing and I'm not willed to pay any longer for the ad-free version I will close this Message board at October 1st 2005, and make it Read-Only for the rest of its being so that Captain WordSmith work is here to be seen and the postings are still to be read.
In the meantime I set up a slightly different forum, the software is hosted by my own homepage hoster, without any ads and hopefully easy to use (no need to registrate yourself and such).
The address is http://www.rattarium.net/sst-forum/forum
or to be accessed through http://starshiptitanic.net.tf (also http://www.rattarium.net/sst-forum )

I hope you all understand my reasons, and I'll see you there then. Thank you!

Beate BilgeRat.

Dear Ed

September 17 2005, 6:51 PM

I do understand and so would he. The forum is silent because he is gone and we have not been able to overcome that. His love and laughter remain here in written word, but it lives on in our heart.

"There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept,
Things we don't want to know but have to learn,
And people we can't live without but have to let go."

I'm so sorry to hear this, but I understand it too. And frankly, I am not sure that Wordsmith could have helped even if he was still among us. I have seen elsewhere that even if an Internet forum seems to have developed a strong friendship between the members, it tends to be very difficult to keep them going once the original topic for the forum is gone. In this case, a game that is no longer manufactured, and which will not run on recent computers without a hassle that we only recently found a way around.

And sure, it's been months since I participated, too.

By the way, is it possible to search based on author? I wanted to take a trip down memory lane.

I will see you on the other forum.

searching the forum

October 2 2005, 9:24 AM

by author? No, it does not. But you can go to Google and search for results when you paste this site:network54.com/Forum/183833 +bilgerat to the search slot. It will give you some results for this forum and posts by BilgeRat.

Just to let you all know:

A few minutes ago I've closed my Premier billing at Network54.
This means: this forum will stay as Read-only, but will suffer worse ads.
