Treasure
1a. precious metals or gems.
1b. a hoard of these.
1c. accumulated wealth.
2. a thing valued for its rarity, workmanship, associations, etc. (art treasures).
3. colloq. a much loved or highly valued person.

I suggest drogocennosti for the meaning 1a;
zapas od drogocennosti/zapas drogocennostej for 1b and 1c;
drogocennost for 2 and 3.

How about Treasure Island, story for children. A pirate treasure that is found on an island.

"Na malju zelenju ostrov v Karibju morie detes naidili piratju dragosklad."

There wasn't only "zoloto" but also other gems on the island. So your "zoloto" doesn't meet exactly what it really is.

It doesn't really matter. We need a good title for a book, not inventory list of what pirates have hidden on the island.

Of the five meanings of the word treasure I listed above, word bogatstvo can be used in the meaning 1c only.

BTW, what is the word for "treasury"?

How about a hidden treasure on an island, something that had been stored there for centuries and then found, i.e. "piratju dragosklad"... Would that be universally understood? drago+sklad exist in all slavic languages....
