I agree about the -s ending. But some of the words from Latin are used in every Slavic language, and we should be happy that they all agree in using them. Using those words aids in understanding.

Jesli pišeš kak pasti tel'at, togda jest' vozmožno. Kogda pišeš o nauce, ne jest' vozmožno.

pásť teľata - what is it ?
iopq Re: pásť teľata ? No score for this post March 24 2008, 4:54 PM
My Slovak dictionary says:
pásť - to graze
teľatá - calves
I. pasti No score for this post March 25 2008, 9:53 AM
OK, but " pasti " means " to dope " or " paste " in plural with ypsilon in slovak and not
" to crop ".

I write pasti so that it's different from past' (fall)

Re: pasti No score for this post March 25 2008, 6:26 PM
"To fall" should be padat'/padnut', otherwise it is confusing.
iopq Re: pasti No score for this post March 26 2008, 5:45 AM
I agree that it should, but it's easier to know which way a verb declines based on its ending than having to memorize its present tense root
so past' has a pad- root, while pasti has a pas- root
