There are a few words here which do not reflect "pure" Slovio vocabulary:

street - Slovio based word is "ulca" - we added "i" - ulicja & ulicov
smell - Slovio is smerdit; we used pahnit (last sentence) - the sentence in English is intended to mean: "But, I smell a cover-up"

We could not find a good Slavic word for English "cover-up" (probably because there are never any cover-ups in Slavia!! )

More:

mificxnij - mythical > in Slovio, MYTH is "mif" and MYTHICAL" is "mifju".
We decided to use root as "mificx" - which in genderless would be "mificxnju"
(or perhaps should be without "n" - mificxij, mificxju itd?)

Phrase:

"Britskja gazeta The Telegraph bila pervja gazeta zvestit historia,"

We had discussion whether should be translated as above or as follows:

"Britskja gazeta The Telegraph bila pervja gazeta, ktorja zvestila historiu?"

Of course the second variant is better -- the first one is calque from English, most Slavs would not understand it.

The issue regarding the first vs. the second versions was whether the second version is more of a Russian construction, and that the western and southern Slavic constructions would support the first?

I really don't know why you all make this language more and more complicated.

Past tense in the Slavic langauges has ONE COMMON ENDING : L

Present tense has got various but either let's use THE MOST COMMON : T or infinitive without T.

Future tense has got : BUDET, BUDE, BENDE, ..... so let's do it JUST WITH ONE OF THEM FOR ALL THE GENDERS, SINGULAR/PLURAL, .....

Very easy. Just because Slavs want to make it more complicated. Slavs want it to be closer to their native languages. And moreover, it increases the understanding among Slavs!

Moraczewski: PRAVDA

Originally, when Michal first proposed what is now "SLOVIOSKI," he stressed the need for "more complicated" grammar than SLOVIO. I originally did not want to have as extensive a grammar as we ultimately chose; however, after FIRST "hearing" comments from almost all Slavic-speakers in Slavic-Unity that they wanted to have more traditional Slavic grammar, and SECOND, working with Slavic-speakers in Praha and Serbia-Croatia who ALSO wanted more traditional Slavic grammar, I "converted" to the cause.

Moraczewski, Michal and I then struggled to determine "How traditional" we would proceed - and, indeed, over months I found myself going from "simple" to "complicated" to "simple" (np: at one point I wanted full Genitive, but Moraczewski wanted Genitive to be part of Objective Case like Slovio!)

Of course, all of this is still "new." And we may have, indeed, only been "tuning our violins" - BUT for the fact that the people I work with in Praha and Serbo-Croatia are, in fact, now using Slovioski to communicate - and our American non-Slavic speakers are using SLOVIO + list of SLOVIOSKI RULES to better understand what Slavic-speakers write.

Are they tuning their violins? Niet.
This is daily business for them, putting bread on their tables, etc.

PRAVDA - TRUTH?

Slovenian: pravda = lawsuit
Czech/Slovak: pravda = truth, true
Serbo-Croation: justice
Bul: righteousness
Rus: pravda - truth
Pol: pravda - truth

CONCLUSION:

The "truth" is not always the "truth"

Pravo+da=given truth, ie. revealed law. In Old Rus Pravda = Constitution, Law, ie Ruskaja Pravda. The concept of RIGHT LAW makes it TRUTH ie. the TRUE RULES to follow.
