Portugal: UFO Photographed in Monte Novo
June 10, 2004
By Rui Chaves/Carlos Varela
A UFO was photographed in Monte Novo between Reguengos and Evora on Monday, May 31, at approximately 14:30 hours. Four people at the site--two engineers and two students, did not notice the presence of the object until they checked the images picked up by the digital camera. Eduardo Silva, 25, of the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ) took the photo as he performed a water quality survey on the waters of Monte Novo, Vigia and Caia.
"I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING STRANGE"
"I only noticed it when we saw the photograph. That's when we started saying it was a UFO, but I only gave it importance when I saw the news," explained Eduardo Silva. "It was very hot and there were no birds about, or balloons or helicopters," said the author of the photo. CM reported on last Thursday that the Portuguese Air Force had followed the tracks of a "spindle-shaped" object which had crossed the national air space. On Monday, Colonel Barbosa of the Armed Forces High Command explained that they were currently "cross-checking information from the radar images and eyewitness accounts."
The officer said that "if possible" any news would be made known "shortly." The photo provided to CM shows no signs of tampering. The reflection of the sun on the apparently metallic object agrees with the shadows of the trees shown in the photo.

CHILE: COLLEGE STUDENTS SAW STRANGE RED OBJECT
Three UNIACC students managed to capture red object over the Malleco viaduct with their camcorder.
TEMUCO. There was great expectation among residents of the Collipulli community regarding the experiences of three college students who claimed having seen and recorded an unidentified flying object over the Malleco viaduct.
The sighting took place last Saturday and involved Alvaro Zamora, Sergio Vidal and Cesar Arellano, audiovisual arts majors at UNIACC who had been in the vicinity of Malleco making a documentary about the viaduct.Around 18:00 hours, when darkness began to fall over the area, and as the students waited for a train to appear to complete their shooting for the day, a scintillating red object appeared at moderate speed, crossing the skies in a southward direction. According to local eyewitnesses, the UFO flew oer the Chiguayhue hills, facing the viaduct.
"We were able to see it for about 5 minutes," said the students. "What's odd is that the object neither fell nor landed, and it vanished behind the hills as swiftly as it appeared."
According to the students, the object moved slowly. "Another important point is that the UFO suddenly vanished. We thought it was a meteorite, but we realized that it never descended." The sighting was recorded on video cameras and will almost surely be requested from the students for analytical purposes by Santiago-based specialists. While the sighting took place, some motorists traveling along the road pulled over to get a better view of the strange phenomenon.
The students say that they will keep the tapes in their custody until they return to Santiago, where they shall examine the frame by frame. The object is still a source of excitment among local resident and Chilean ufologists, who maintain that the area is a sort of "corridor" for mysterious flying objects.
UFO sightings are nothing new in Malleco. This sector of Chile's 9th Region has been classified by specialists as a "UFO transit corridor", which has been proven by the number of sightings that have taken place in recent months. Residents of Collipulli and Victoria have seen strange objects in the sky for which no scientific explanation can be found. An object similar to the one seen in Collipulli was reported only a few days ago by motorists driving toward Victoria from a sector adjactent to Inspector Fernandez.

SPAIN: LUMINOUS OBJECT OVER GALICIA AND PORTUGAL
Jose Angel Docobo, director of the Ramon Maria Aller Astronomical Observatory in Santiago de Compostela, stated today that the unidentified luminous object seen Tuesday over different parts of southern Galicia was almost certainly "a cosmic rock".
According to Docobo, early signs point to the fact that the phenomenon was caused by a "bolide, a natural object" although this cannot be said with certainty. The Observatory notes that no atmospheric penetration by an object of that type had been expected, but it would not be the first time such a thing occurs unexpectedly. Jose Angel Docbo is convinced that coming hours will reveal the precise nature of the phenomenon responsible for sightings among numerous residents of southern Galicia around midnight yesterday. The Observatory is in contact with a number of experts in the field to seek a definitive explanation to the events.
The likeliest possibility, says Dacobo, is that it was a natural object "with a rather even trajectory", since eyewitnesses claiming to have seen it reported [the object] was following an ascending path. In any event, the Observatory's director has not dismissed the possibility that the strange lighs could be space junk or even some military experiment. The Guardia Civil received up to nine phone calls on Tuesday night from southern Galicia reporting the sighting--all of them around 12:30 a.m.. According to the accounts, the object "was as bright as an airplane" but changed intensity, and lef t trail similar to that of a rocket during its ascending trajectory.
Moreover, AENA (Aeropuertos Espanoles y Navegacion Aerea) reported that it has no evidence of any incidents over Galicia last night. The aviation agenciy reproted that the Vigo Airport is closed at that time of night but that air traffic continues over the area, involving airliners crossing the airspace in question and the possibility that private planes are also flying in the vicinity.
The strange phenomenon was also seen by numerous eyewitnesses in Portugal, especially in the north, according to that country's press. Diario de Noticias reports that the Firefighting and Civil Defense services received phone calls reporting a "large, intense white light with smoke."
The unidentified luminous object was seen as the same time as in Galicia, at 11:30 p.m.in Portugal and from locations throughout Portuguese territory, such as Penafiel, Vendas Novas, Evora, Algarve and Setubal. For the moment, Portuguese authorities do not know what could be the cause for the odd sighting in the skies.

ARGENTINA: CATTLE MUTILATIONS IN RIO CUARTO
**Urgent Dispatch from Rio Cuarto**
Yesterday (Sunday, May, 30, 2004) the Circulo Ovnilo Riocuartense received a phone call from a rural establishment 55 km distant from the town of Suco in southern Rio Cuarto, in which Mr. Senen Gregorat (the field's owner), explained that in late March of this year a cattle mutilation case had taken place on his proeprty. From Gregorat's own infestigations, it turns out that the alleged mutilation was the work of "pranksters" who killed the animal by introducing a wet bag into its mouth to suffocate it in order to simulate mutilations later on. For this reason, Mr. Gregorat told COR: "We're sick of these fools taking such an important matter as a joke, especially when it affects us financially. It's high time someone takes measures against them."
In a second phone on the same date, at 16:30 hours, Mr. Gregorat reported that he had just found a two year old "Pampa" breed cow, weighing some 280 kilograms, dead and mutilated. From Gregorat's own observations, relayed via cell phone, he said that the right eye and ear wre missing along with part of the udder and anus, and that it's "leg hair" appeared to have been singed by a considerable source of heat. The animal did not shown any signs of having died violently. When asked if its hooves were diry, he replied that they were not and that he could not tell if it kicked while dying, since any marks on the ground would have been erased by the trampling of other cattle in the lot.
In his phone call, the cattleman noted that to judge from what he could see and understand, the animal would have been "hoisted and subsequently deposited on the lot's floor without any violence," since there were no signs of fractures or bruises on the animal's body, nor traces of soil on its hide."
Gregorat added that a few nights ago (Thursday) while he and other people were at a highway toll gate in Suco, they witnessed the rpesence of an obejct in the sky that looked like a very bright star, but moments later they confirmed the "the supposed star was moving from West to East until it passed right over us."

UFO CRASHES IN VENEZUELA?
An unidentified flying object crashed last Saturday, May 15, 2004 in the vicinity of the Raul Leoni Hydroelectric Station, also known as the Guri Dam, located on the Caroni River some 100 kilometers from the mouth of the Orinoco River at Puerto Ordaz, Ciudad Bolivar (updated information).
The accident, which occurred in the early hours of last Saturday, was witnessed by workers of the dam in question and took place to the northwest of this location. Stringent security measures were taken immediately by active members of the National Guard, who proceeded to cordon off the area. The presence of U.S. personnel was also observed, a common feature in all crashes involving UFOs.
It must be noted that the Seismography Unit registered movement at the time of the unusual accident, a detail reminiscent of the Roswell, New Mexico (USA) event of 1947. With regard to an alien presence, no reports have been received at this time. Access to the crash site has been highly complicated due to torrential rains at the site during this time of year. However, accredited personnel from Proyecto Orion is on site, collecting information that shall be broadened in coming hours.

UFO FLIES OVER UBATE; LOCALS CLAIM SEEING STRANGE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY
The photographs recently taken by a photographer substantiate eyewitness reports of UFOs seen over the municipality. David Lopez, in spite of his long experience as a photographer, was never able to take a shot of the Basilica Menor of Ubate a municipality in which he has lived for 25 years--framed by an inmense rainbow. "It would make a lovely postcard," he would think.
However, some two weeks ago, as though a gift from above, the multihued rainbow appeared beside the church. It was Monday and the time was barely five o'clock in the afternoon.
Armed with his digital camera, placed over a heavy jacket, Lopez headed toward the town's central square and fired off three or four shots with flash without anything unusual occurring, until he ran into his friend Jaime Jaramillo, an old friend who said "I'll buy one" later on.
But the surprise came afterwards: when David opened the image files on his computer, a small white dot, first to the left of the rainbow and then appearing on the right, had manifested itself in the photos. The dot, as he opened one file and another, acquired red and violet hues.
"When I took the photo I never saw anything like that. They were simply there, on my computer screen," he said excitedly.
Lopez, who claims having seen UFOs when he worked as an air traffic controller at the El Dorado airport, isn't the only one to speak of UFOs. William Chavez, a Colombian ufological expert, who is currently studying the phenomenon that occurred in Mexico, corroborated Lopez's photos.
The fact is that that there are plenty of eyewitness accounts to go around. Mrs. Dolores Cruz (pseudonym), a former nurse in the municipality, claims that a few days after Lopez took his photos she saw "something very strange".
"On the evening of May 3, after I'd finished praying the Rosary on the terrace of my house, I saw something like a balloon about to collide with the church steeple. Then it remained still, suspended in mid-air. It passed over the Telecom tower and accelerated so much that I wasn't able to see it," she said.
Another eyewitness account comes from town notary Jorge Castellanos, who also claims seeing "oval shapes" crossing the skies. Aliens? Who knows. The fact is that towering structures such as the demolished Twin Towers, the Egyptian Pyramids, the Greek Acropolis or the Eiffel Tower have always had tales of spaceships prowling in their vicinity...and thus, Ubatow has its own.

NEW UFO SIGHTINGS IN CABO ROJO
A report has been received that on May 5, 2004, Mr. Aguirre, a fisherman and local resident of Cabo Rojo, a town in the southwestern corner of Puerto Rico, reported seeing "strange lights" entering and leaving the sea and the cliffs near the famous Cabo Rojo light house late at night. An on-site inspection revealed that many tourists who visit the site have experienced odd sensations and certain types of "paranormal energy" as thought there were something else at the location. It is well known that UFO skywatches have taken place in the area and some of them have yielded positive results.
Our survey of the site disclosed that the waters near one of the cliffs showed evidence of what could be termed remains of spiritual or witchcraft "trabajos" (artifacts). The height of another cliff gave us pause, perhaps as well as its magnetism (sic). What is worth pointing out here is that many people claim having had unusual experiences in the vicinity of the lighthouse, giving rise to the belief that this is an area of intense paranormal activity. It must be made clear that the light house's beam has been confused with other surrounding lights, which makes the study of something taking place in the region even more interesting.
A recent photo of the newly-remodeled Cabo Rojo Lighthouse.
One of the strange lights reported in recent days over the lighthouse, far above the range of the light issued from the structure. The object presented signs of movement and deformation.

HAVANA RESIDENTS CLAIM HAVING SEEN UFO
HAVANA, May 18 (PL) - In the surroundings of EXPOCUBA, a fairground located in the capital city municipality of Boyeros, several persons claimed having witnessed the presence of a UFO, according to an article appearing in the local press.
According to the Juventud Rebelde newspaper, residents of the site witnessed the descent of an alleged UFO (unidentified flying object) on Saturday, May 8, without this claim having been scientifically substantiated.
Witnesses claim that around 10:00 a.m., a small oval-shaped vessel, silver-colored and with a metallic tail, landed in open field encircled by trees on the El Pedregal farm, located in the surrounds of EXPOCUBA southeast of the city of Havana.
"I was tidying the shelves when a bright light came through the window. It was like a glowing ball with a tail in its lower section. I showed it to my mother quickly and ran outside to see where it would fall," said Raul Beltran, 17, who claims having been at the site until the UFO took off once more. "It lifted off rather perpendicularly and then left through the palm trees. It didn't make any noise nor issue any smoke. The only thing I'm sure of is its size: more or less the size of a pickup truck tire, or thereabouts."
"When my son showed it to me, I thought it was a kite or a parachutist, since skydivers drop over EXPOCUBA every so often! After, as it came down, I realized that it could be nothing of the sort, since it was smaller and glowed a lot. It looked like a mirror,"said Odalis, Raul Beltran's mother.
Remigio Sanchez, who works as a warehouseman at a school not far from where the incident occurred, claims having seen a light in the sky almost at the same time as the other spectators. "It was a powerful glow in the sky, but it was far away so I thought it was a flare. When I got to Odalis's house -- Raul's mom -- she told me that a device had landed nearby."
According to witnesses, and as Juventud Rebelde attested when it visited the site, the grass and small plants at the site where the UFO landed are somewhat burned, although it is true that the current drought at the site is causing similar things to happen at other nearby locations.
It has not been possible to scientifically confirm the presence of any UFO anywhere in the world. It is true that many people claim having seen one object or another, but strangely enough, in none of these cases is any material evidence left behind that could prove the existence of strange bodies on our planet.
According to Oscar Alvarez Pomares, a specialist in the Science Office of the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment: "People want to believe that other beings exist in the universe, although I am not saying that what the protagonists of this episode saw was untrue."
According to this scientist, there is an Institute for the Search of Extraterrestrial life in the United States, although none of its specialists have been able to ascertain the presence of UFOs on Earth, despite having studied several cases in which strange vehicles have landed, according to public testimony.

INVISIBLE UFOs PHOTOGRAPHED DURING EASTER PROCESSIONS
The religious fervor attached to the itinerary of holy images causes thousands of citizens to take to the streets of Malaga to recall the passion of Christ. Simultaneously with this religious fervor, sightings of UFOs tend to occur, crossing the skies and imperceptible to the human eye.
Mga, Spain: On Wednesday, April 7 2004 at 16;30 hours, the procession of the .Cofradde Nazarenos del Santo Cristo de las Penas, as is its yearly custom, issues from the parish of DIvina Pastora in the Capuchinos neighborhood.
The event occurred between 18:30 and 18:45 hours along a stretch of their tour parallel to the Guadalmedina River, specifically as they pasted through Pasillo Santa Isable, where Rainor1 had the chance to approach the image of the crucified Christ from various angles using the sky as a backdrop.
"This was possible because there weren't too many spectators present, unlike other larger ones such as the Cautivo one, to whom many miracles have been ascribed here in Malaga," said the photographer.
Rainor 1 claims that after transferring the images to a computer and having inspected them one by one, he realized that the camarea had picked up somehting that was not seen at the time neither by he nor anyone present during the procession.
To the right of the photo can be seen the technical characteristics under which it was taken: it was taken facing the river and the Trinidad district on the other side of the bridge. Said evidence was recorded on photo No. 212 out of total of 260 taken that afternoon. A SONY Cybershot Model P-31 (2 megapixels) was employed. "Weather conditions were a clear sky that allowed for light and heat.
Sunset in Malaga tends to occur at around 8:45 pm this time of year (GMT 2)

ARGENTINA: UFO OVER CAPILLA DEL MONTE
At 22:05 hours on May 2, 2004, a resident of Barrio Las Gemelas in Capilla del Monte contacted the CATENT group to report the transit of a yellow light that was reflected on the treetops and traveling in an East-West direction, that is to say, from the Sierras toward Dique El Cajat an estimated elevation of 150 meters above ground and without making any noise whatsoever. The caller's parents were also witnesses to this event.
Townspeople tend to comment quite often on these cases, and they are so many and so numerous that they are often not passed on to information lists.
Last week, on Wednesday, April 28, researcher Hector Picco remarked that he had seen a small white light coming from the sierras and vanishing into the rocky floor of an empty piece of property adjacent to his home.
A local fisherman said that in the year 1983, while on his way to a fishing trip with some friends in Dique Los Alazanes (in the region of La Toma), he had seen a UFO with several lights that moved below mountain level between the Uritorco and the Overo [hills]. This case predates the famous Pajarillo footprint.

Erick Bellido Interviews Hector Acevedo:
"I Was Abducted by a UFO"
A humble tradesman of the 9th Region (Chile is politically divided into Regions, which are equivalent to provinces or states) descrbed his close encounter of the 3rd kind, an event that thrust him into frenzied panic after his car was intercepted by an unknown vehicle that enveloped his sedan in a powerful light.
SANTIAGO (Chile) February 5.- On a winter's day in 1997, Hector Acevedo was driving his white Daihatsu Charade distributing milk products throughout the Ninth Region. Every day he covered a different route, supplying his product to small and medium-sized rural businesses. In mid-July of that year, his company assigned him to cover a pre-sales rout between the towns of Los Sauces and Purén, half and hour distant from each other by car. At 20:00 hours by the clock, Acevedo had finished his duties for the day and had gone to retrieve some household appliances he had dropped off for repair. So it was that while he put the appliances into his trunk, the owner of the repair shop told him that some strange lights had been flying overhead at lightning speed. Acevedo paid little heed: it was a clear night and there was no sign of bad weather.
Several minutes later, when he was about to reach Los Sauces, the lonely driver was confronted by a phenomenon that would scar him for the rest of his life.
What was it you saw on that occasion?
I was driving along when a circular object appeared before me just as I was taking a curve. It was flying at low altitude and I estimate that it measured between 15-20 meters in diameter.
How did you react?
Just imagine running into a giant thing almost on top of you and hanging in mid-air. The truth is that I was very tense and broke into a cold sweat.
So what happened at that time?
Well, this thing hovered over my car and surrounded it in a beam of light that subsequently drained off, in other words, it lost power.
How fast were you driving?
I was driving at more or less 80 kilometers, but when the object appeared, the car's RPMs dropped to 20 kmh.
You must've braked suddenly!
No sir, I never braked. The car appeared to steer itself, because I couldn't even handle the steering wheel.
Those minutes must've been complicated.
They were endless. No one has been able to give me a satisfactory explanation for this experience. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Did the phenomenon progress or did it remain stationary?
During the nearly 10 minutes it lasted, the mass had a reddish hue and another shadea violet onewould appear in the center. But the strange thing was that it didn't cast any light outward. On the other hand, the light that enveloped my car changed its intensity from pale white to intense white. It was so strong I couldn't even distinguish my shoes or the brake and accelerator pedals.
How did this close encounter end?
The truth is that I don't know. I have no memories whatsoever after what I told you. What's odd is that I finally reached Los Sauces after 23:00 hours and I never knew how I did it. I just don't recall.
How do you interpret your experience?
I don't know. I think I was abducted by a UFO.
Why did you decide to tell your story?
So if this should ever happen to someone else, he or she won't be accused of being a nut, because after having experienced something like this, one becomes sensitized, especially toward strange phenomena. At first I sought support in my friends, because I was even afraid to tell my wife of the experience.
Do you think it's important to make these cases known?
It's just that we're not ready for this, and that's the fact.
And when you reached home, what did your wife say?
She was scared when she saw me. My face was a pale, leaden color, and my body ached so much it was like someone who'd been hit by a train and survived. I was lucky to live to tell the tale..

DATE: April 3, 2004
On Saturday, April 3, 2004 the Centro de Analisis de Fenomenos Espaciales conducted a UFO investigation in the town of Ucu, Yucatan, where several interviews were conducted to glean information about sightings in the area.
The site was visited due to reports of a strange presence: triangular,zig-zagging lights in the sky and objects that manifest themselves.
Arriving at the site, which is close to the city of Merida, members of CAFE visited the home of Hugo Raciel Luna, 24, who told us fo several UFO experiences.
Hugo began by describing his first UFO sighting. At around 4 p.m. in the month of December [2003] he saw a very bright light having a magnitude greater than the planet Venus. He told us that the light's brilliance increased and diminished for several minutes. He thought at first that it was an airliner or a satellite, but rejected this possibility because the object lacked tha navigation lights of an aircraft. He adds that there was no sound whatsoever and that the object did not follow a definite trajectory, meaning that it couldn't be a satellite. He explains that several local residents came out of their homes to see the object, amounting to 9 witnesses after a while. He was starting to think the object might be some planet when the light suddely began moving away and vanished from sight.
After describing this inital sighting, he has devoted more time to looking at the sky and told us that on a recent Sunday evening he saw three lights over the Ucu baseball field which were approaching in a zig-zagging motion between 11 or 12 at night. He said that in the measure that the lights approached, he could tell that their number increased to a total of nine in a triangular formation. Hugo says they were the size of the lamp on top of a streetlight and appeared to be heading from the vicinity of Celestun.
Upon seeing this, Hugo alerted his mother and aunts and all of the locals came out of their homes--a total of 15 witnesses on this occasion--and remained outside until 1:30 a.m., at which time the lights vanished.
Hugo explains that during the time that the objects were visible there was neither sound nor smoke. He comments that there was "a lot of air in the atmosphere" [sic] and the objects were forming triangles three by three--the first one toward the west, the second toward the north, and the third toward the east. After several turns, the obejcts constituted a larger triangle formed by the nine lights. Once this configuration was achieved, they sped off in the direction of Mda.

While members of the CAFE group were in the town of Nolo on March 20, 2004 in preparation for the UFO skywatch scheduled for that day, they were approached by Nicte Ha Martin Loeza, who reported having had a multiple UFO sighting on March 19 at 8:17 p.m. while she was at the Haltun Ha estate in Nolo doing some stargazing. Suddenly she noticed four white lights racing over her head; it was clear to see they were not an aircraft since there were no blinking lights. She also remarked that no sounds were heard.
The weather was completely clear and the sky could be seen perfectly, aside from being in an area where there is little artificial light. While she observed the movement of the lights, the third light that followed the first two vanished from sight and reappeared in front of the two others. Her first idea was to think that it was some sort of satellite, but she dismissed the possibility in view of the apparent race that the objects were engaged in, since the second light seemed to be catching up to the first. All of the lights vanished after being in view for two minutes.
After having received this information, the Centro de Analisis de Fenomenos Espaciales checked to see if a satellite or satellites had crossed the heavens at that time, but none coincided with the time and trajectory mentioned by Nicte Ha. Therefore, the conclusion was reached that she had seen an unidentified flying object.

TEENAGER REPORTS SEEING UFO OVER ATXONDO
***UFOs Return to the Duranguesado***
***A 14 year old boy reports seen a luminous artifact flying over his community**
On Thursday, April 22 a mysterious object was reported in the vicinity of the Biscayan town of Apatamonasterio at around 21:30 hours.
A 14 year old boy was returning home when he saw lights in the sky that attracted his attention. He saw something in the far distance that "didn't seem like an airplane and had different lights, aside from moving at faster speed." According to his testimony, the alleged UFO changed directions just to go right back the way it had come, losing itself in the night toward Durango.
[SEIP] received word of the incident a few minutes after it occured, and we did not hestitate to spend nearly two hours traveling around the town, stopping at various locations, in the hopes of finding the object, but all of our efforts were in vain. The photographic scan performed on the area did not yield anything of interest, either.
A week later we ran into a woman, almost by sheer coincidence, who told us of her own experience. It seems that on the very same day of the event, and at the same time (21:30 hrs.) she observed three small white lights that appeared "to be stationary in the sky."
The woman is unsure if it was a single object with three lights, or three small objects in formation.
Months ago we had already been told of certain events occurring in areas of Bizkaia and Guip? pertaining to luminous spheres and triangular obejcts, which reminds us of the UFO flaps experienced in the Duranguesado in 1995 and 1997, and which became known through the communications media, such as Radio Euskadi, Euskadi Irratia, Enigmas magazine, Durango Irratia, the Deia newspaper and other media specializing in the paranormal.
At this time we are engaged in learning of new sightings and are attempting to locate new witnesses to the aforementioned events.

AN ASTEROID FELL IN PATAGONIA
An important but sadly underutilized Argentinean researcher, Maximiliano Rocca, inferred through satellite imagery that the center of Patagonia was the site of a giant meteorite impact--in other words, an asteroid collision --which created the largest meteor impact crater on Earth.
The studies which led him to reach these conclusions have been published on the Internet and in English, since as usual, his discovery was only well-received abroad.
During our expedition last month to the site of our usual archaeological and historical research, we were able to reach the impact site thanks to the information provided by M. Rocca. The exact site shall only be made known with the authorization of Maximiliano Rocca.
On March 25, 2004, two units of Fundacielphos were able to reach the crater and survey its full extent. The efforts of Christian Morelli with GPS, satellite maps and his improvised scale meters must be acknowledged (since the expedition would have otherwise become lost in this tremendous and marvelous landscape). It was with barely concealed excitement that we descended the slopes of the gigantic crater.
To say that the site is impressive is to sell it short. The surrounding edge is approximately 100 meters high, perfectly circular, and it surrounded us as we progressed across the 4800 meter diameter of the crater. We were able to take video, photos and samples.
Still to be analyzed is the meaning of certain dark, circular spots, lacking vegetation and apparently burned, having a diameter of approximately 40 meters, which were found outside the crater. These circles are filled with some flat, black and glassy stones. Every so often we can find smaller circles measuring 1.20 meters in diameter which are perfectly flat and clean.
The first photo shows the two Delphos units progressing within the crater, near its western edge.
The second photo shows one of the flat, black and molten stones within one of the strange circular spots.

LA POMA: ANOTHER SIGHTING IN THE CHALCHAQUI VALLEYS
**Shepherds Feared UFO Abduction***
**It ws an intense light that suddenly began moving and stopped above us. I thought it would whisk us away**
The terrifying story was told by Julio Rafael Espinosa, 39, a farmer of the La Poma region, who two weeks ago -- in the company of his two sons and an elderly shepherdess, witnessed one of so many luminous apparitions at Quebrada de Orozco, some 20 kilometers away from the aforementioned community in the Chalchaqualleys.
"On that night, around 20:30, we were waiting on National Highway 40, which links La Poma to San Antonio de los Cobres, for the merchandise truck that passes by a few times a week bringing novelties with it and supplies," the man recalled as he hugged one of his sons. Espinoza added: "We were with my two boys, ages 6 and 9, and with Grandma Braulia, 82, a sheperdess who is a neighbor of our stand in the Sauzalito area, when suddenly, a luminous object appeared out of the slopes of the Nevado de Cachi, flying at low altitude and zigzagging."
According to the humble farmer's testimony, the large object's luminosity increased and diminished in the measure that it approached the point where the group observed the phenomenon at the edge of the road, surrounded by the mountainous massifs of La Poma. Espinoza says that they were perplexed and nearly frozen by the situation until the UFO stood over their heads, which was the time of greatest luminous intensity emanating from the vehicle. "It lasted only an instant. It was motionless in the air, some fifty meters above us and its white light would become yellowish. It had no shape...it was like an enormous, refulgent mass," he recalled.
The shepherd said that after a few seconds, the object lost itself swiftly among the northern hills in the vicinity of the location known as Punta del Agua. "The UFO came from the area of La Poma and the entire event lasted some three minutes, from the moment it appeared, stood over us, and vanished. After that, we remained waiting for the truck, didn't say anything to anybody, and left. The next day Grandma Braulia told me that that wasn't the first time she'd seen a similar phenomenon in the area. Before that I though I was the only one who had seen so many flying objects. However, many more locals have witnessed this phenomenon," the man said.
Espinosa, a privileged eyewitness to this new sighting, had already witnessed similar events, such as one last December as he travelled in the company of six people aboard a bus on the Tin Tin highway. On that occasion, he managed to see lights similar to those of a UFO on the ground in middle of Los Cardones National Park. But on that occasion, Espinoza claims having seen some aliens descending from the craft and who appeared to be taking samples of the soil or shrubs growing in the region.
Somewhat more confidently, Espinosa dared to reflect that "this area appears to be used by these strange devices as a passageway to the Cordilleran reagion, because it's surrounded by large massifes and the basin of the Chalchaquiver could serve as permanent means of communication toward the Andes."

[Background: "El Dragón Invisible" is Argentina's best-known on line publication for UFO and paranormal accounts. Its editor, Carlos Iurchuk, received the following letter and photograph which appeared in the latest issue].
Letter from Ruben Mansilla: "Hi Carlos -- after three years I've been able to get on-line again and wanted to say hello to al of my friends and contacts [...]. I am going to give you an exclusive story for your website, something I became aware of barely an hour ago.
There was an event here in Mar de Ajó and a local resident named Roberto García took some photos with a digital camera and left them at a camera store belonging to a friend of mine to print the digital images. Upon doing so [my friend] phoned me urgently, since he knows of my interest in these things.
So it was that we found, in one of the photos, a mysterious visitor that no one else noticed. I am attaching the original and a processed copy. Later on I'll work a bit more with the photo and will send you more stuff."
