MEXICO: A Schoolteacher's Alien Encounter

See Picture.

MOCORITO - (Maria Elizalde) - The time was nearly 05:00 when an unexpected visitor appeared before her. She felt neither fear nor uncertainty. She only recalls having felt an odd sense of peace upon seeing that "body" of gelatinous material "the color of honey".

No questions were asked at first. But she later inquired: "What do you seek here with your presence?"

This is the contact experience of Violeta Ortiz Castro last Sunday (December 2nd) when an extraterrestrial entity appeared in her bedroom. Not only that - she was also able to capture it on video and photos on her cellphone.

That morning, Violeta arrived home after 04:00 hours, returning from a family celebration. Upon returning, she was about to put on her pajamas, as usual, turning on some music while she fell asleep and also lit a cigarette.

She sat on the floor to smoke, on the left hand side of the bed, listening to Vicki Carr's "Me Recordarás", when the strange image appeared less than a meter away from her. Is it real? She wondered.

Stunned by the visit, she later asked it: "What do you seek here with your presence?"

The world of the extraterrestrial had interested her from before, so she did not hesitate to think that she was facing a being from another planet. The creature, stating approximately 80 cm tall, looked at her fixedly while she asked questions that received no answer.

"I'm not afraid of you, because God is with me," she told it. As it refused to answer, she told it she would take pictures of it.

The time was 04:57 when her cellphone captured the first video. The screen shows a honey-colored image and large eyes. According to the young woman's description -- she is a preschool teacher -- the creature's feet resembled those of a chicken, and instead of hands, it had something resembling the spines of a fish skeleton. While she never touched it, she said that the creature's skin looked gelatinous, and that the only reaction she observed from her "visitor" were head movements from side to the other.

Violeta managed to take three videos and five photographs, the last at 5:07 hours, which shows the image fading, as though the entity was being transported away. She was deeply impressed by this experience, but states feeling no fear at any time.

"It inspired much peace and tranquility. After it was gone, I felt paralyzed. I didn't get up, didn't scream, or made any noise whatsoever."

40 minutes later, she managed to get up and went to her older sisters room to tell her what had happened. Her sister was frightened and did not allow her to return to her bedroom. They tried to get some sleep.

The experience was discussed the next day with the rest of the family, and the cellphone images gave everyone "goosebumps"

She found it unbelievable that the entity could have gotten into her home while they were all asleep. Violeta remarks that the alien was perhaps trying to send a message through her, and she would like to see it again. "I would have liked to touch it or hug it, because I felt tenderness toward it. I take this as a good sign. We're different beings and maybe it was trying to tell us something."

That very same night, shortly before 22:00 hours, Jesus Antonio Gutierrez claims that he saw a UFO when he was in the backyard of a home located on Donato Guerra street.

Upon returning home, the first thing he told his wife was: "Honey, for the first time in my life I've seen a UFO." He explained that it was an object that flew around moving slowly, making shapes similar to the letter "V". Whe saw the light, it increased threefold in size. "I felt that they saw me."

There are other eyewitnesses to the sighting, and all of them agree that there were aliens in Mocorito that night:

22:00 hours, Saturday 12.01: A neighbor saw a UFO near Donato Guerra street.

23:00 hours, Saturday 12.01: Other neighbors saw a strange light they ascribed to the UFO.

05:00 hours, Sunday 12.02: An alien appears inside a home in the town's historic central district.

------------

Ana Luisa Cid managed to interview reporter Maria Elizalde, who covered the story of the schoolteacher's alien encounter. "Given the lack of images of the alleged alien, I thought it prudent to interview the reporter and learn more specifics about this case," she says. "Ms. Maria Elizalde kindly accepted my call and these are her statements."

Ana: Are you aware of Professor Violeta Ortiz's videos and photos?

Maria: Yes, I'm aware of the photos and the videos. The teachers room can be seen in the half light and there is the silhouette of a short creature with a large head and dark eyes. Neither hands nor feet can be seen. Violeta can be heard singing on the video. She used a Motorola V5 cellphone.

Ana: Does the alleged being move or does it remain static?

Maria: Yes, it moves. It has a slight side-to-side movement.

Ana: Forgive me, but this question is obvious. Couldn't it be a trick?

Maria: No, I don't think it's a trick. I know Violeta because she's an in-law of mine. Furthermore, other people reported seeing UFOs since Saturday.

Ana: Why isn't there a photo of the strange entity in your newspaper article?

Maria: I had one and intended to publish it, but Violeta didn't want me to. She believes that if we publish the material, someone may take it and doctor it. However, she has shown her videos to many people. About 50 people visited her home during the first two days and she showed them her material. She also did the same at work. Since Mocorito is a small town, the news spread quickly.

Ana: Had the teacher taken photos of this nature before?

Maria: Well, she's very interested in extraterrestrial concerns, but she had never taken photos like these. She has other very interesting photos, such as a face that can be seen in the bottom of a photo. She took that when she was alone. There was no one else at home, and she's picked up other things with her cellphone. In fact, strange phenomena occur in her neighborhood. That site formerly held a graveyard and then a hospital. Mocorito is a place with a lot of history.

UFOs in Mexico City During Recent Blackout?

A report from Ana Luisa Cid

See pictures: 1, 2

On Tuesday, December 11, 2007, dozens of districts in the Mexican capital and some municipalities in the state of Mexico were affected by a 25-minute blackout. According to reports, the causes were simultaneous explosions in three electric power stations.

Reports from the Ministry of Civil Protection indicate that said explosions, whose causes are still unknown, took place at the substations of the Nonoalco and Tlatelolco plants, as well as the one located in Ecatepec.

The incident was reported at 23:30 hours and people living next to the Tlatelolco Unit stated that they heard loud explosions within the plant shortly before the blackout, which in turn caused several flashes. The possibility of a terrorist attack against the facilities of the Luz y Fuerza company has been officially discarded.

This information was obtained from the El Universal newspaper, where the picture taken by Valente Rosas was published, showing a luminous object over the skies of the nation's capital during the blackout.

While the use of pyrotechnics around this date are common due to the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the structure does not correspond to that of fireworks, in my opinion, due to its size and morphology. In any event, I think that the possibility of an airplane with a sweeping effect must also be dismissed.

Until contact can be made with the newspaper's photographer and more information offered, it should be noted that two possible UFO sightings occurred that day: the first in the Coapa area to the south of the city, and the second toward the airport.

I had a personal sighting at 11:30 at night as I drove along Avenida de los Cien Metros in the Gustavo A. Madero district. What I saw, in the company of my family, was an object made up of two shining lights, resembling the planet Mars, but double--one sphere above and another below, both of them very large and shiny, traveling at relatively low altitude. The object remained static. It was, however, difficult to capture it on video due to the motion of the car and the impossibility of pulling over on an expressway.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the UFO phenomenon is linked to blackouts in Mexico. Renowned researcher Pedro Ferriz states that then-president Luis Echeverria told him that he and his wife were witnesses to a sighting during the blackouts in Cuernavaca, Morelos, on September 23, 1965, describing the object as similar to a mechanical pencil. The president added that they were in the company of Amalia Hernandez, founder of the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico.

Do UFOs cause blackouts? We really don't know. Those who support this theory opine that UFOs exert powerful electromagnetic influences, particularly near power stations.

MEXICO: A Scary Moment in Izamal

***Loud explosion in a material depot caused by helicopter crash...or by a saucer crash?***

IZAMAL, Yucatan, 29 Nov. - A loud explosion occurred yesterday at six o'clock in the evening, causing fright throughout the municipality of Izamal. The detonation was accompanied by strong vibrations and expectation from neighbors who could not imagine the source of the explosion.

Fear was heightened among locals by the fact that some witnesses claimed having seen a helicopter fall from the sky, while other claimed having seen a flying saucer plummet to the ground. The event prompted the municipal police to mobilize under the command of Jesus Mukul Chimal. The director of public safety, Prisciliano Lujan, ventured into the wilderness near the Cuauhtemoc precinct in a search for the artifact. Elements of the judicial police, SPV and army personnel joined the investigation, but no trace of the vehicle was ever found.

According to local residents interviewed by POR ESTO, the explosion was heard in Izamal and in the precincts of Sitilpech, Cuauhtemoc and Xanaba as well as in the municipality of Sudzal, where panic spread among the locals. Some of them believed that the explosion had its origin at a small ranch to the east of the Cuauhtemoc precinct.

Subsequently, military elements under the command of General Casares of the 32nd Military District located a materials depot used for building a detour into the wilderness, located at Km. 4 of the Izamal-Sitilpech road, apparently belonging to the Construrama company.

Mayor Roberto A. Rodriguez visited the site to ascertain the origin of the explosion. The soldiers advised him that careless handling of a higher quantity of explosives than was required caused the explosion, resulting in the creation of a crater measuring approximately 30 meters in diameter, 14 meters deep, which cast rocks 200 meters away from the focus of the explosion.

According to the military, there were neither injuries nor dangers to human life. Only a sense of fear throughout the community, arising from a very unusual event in the municipality.

Costa Rica: Probable UFO Video in Costa Rica

Malvin Badilla, a Costa Rican construction worker, managed to record a very compelling video of a possible disc-shaped unidentified flying object.

The object appears to spin on its own axis and makes maneuvers in a matter of seconds. The witness states that its apparent size was slightly larger than that of a tractor tire, adding that the time was 3:49 in the afternoon.

Luis Carlos Monge elaborated on this report for Telenoticias, which was broadcast over the three separate editions.

Some aspects of the video:

- Recorded on a Motorola cellphone in 3GP format.

- Duration of 15:06 seconds.

- There is a break at 3:19, when the zoom is applied, a situation that can be normal in some cellphone models when the zoom is used. This information must be checked against a similar phone.

- The object remains static and later changes position, tilting toward the left and the right in fractions of a second, showing other aspects such as: the upper, lateral and lower view, respectively.

- This copy of the video is from researcher Richard Sandi. The file was labeled "22-11-07-1550" , leading me to suppose it is 22 November 2007. In Luis Carlos's report, dated 30 November, the witness claims to have recorded it :"some days ago" - therefore, the label could match the date of the sighting.

Mr. Badillo mentions being in the company of another person, his co-worker William Rivera, who pointed the flying object out to him. Badillo couldn't hear him it at first due to the noise of the drill he was using on the job.

Regarding audio, it should be noted that the copy I received appears not to have any. So I asked reporter Monge about it, and he replied verbatim: "Yes it does, but it is very low. You can hear the boy shouting William, William, then the drrill sound. According to him, the object made no sound whatsoever."

Ana Luisa Cid's Opinion

After reviewing the video several times, in slow motion and frame by frame, I believe that this could be genuine material and while it is true that "UFOs" can be created on the computer, it is nonetheless true that many people around the world have reported and documented artifacts of this sort.

The witness seems sincere and I find it feasible that he should have experienced a sighting.

I extend this opinion in a preliminary capacity, as we still need to see the research of Costa Rican ufologists, who will doubtless have a more qualified opinion by virtue of interviewing the witnesses and vistiting the site to conduct field work.

The video shall be transmited as an exclusive in Mexico on 7 December on the "Con Claridad" program on Channel 3 of Pachuca Television.

It should be noted that the images are the property of Teletica - Canal -7 - Costa Rica. (translator's note- Prof. Ana Luisa Cid requests that this be honored).

My thanks to: Pilar Cisneros (Asst. Dir. for Telenoticias) , Reporter Luis Carlos Monge, researcher Richard Sandi.

Mexico: UFO Over Tepexpan

A Report From Prof. Ana Luisa Cid

See Pictures: 1, 2

A luminous, multicolored object was recorded by Mr. Victor Gabriel Gonzalez over the town of Tepexpan (State of Mexico).

The sighting took place on November 26, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.

The witness says that he was outside his workshop engaged in car repairs when he saw a flash in the sky toward the west. He realized that the glow came from a static object in the sky, so it gave him time to get his Sony 108 Mini-DVD camera ready.

"When I started recording," says González, "the UFO began to move slowly. It flew over the electric lines and then remained static at another point toward the east. It was at that time that I switched camera modes to take some photos. For that reason I have both video and photos, estimating that the sighting had a duration of 10 minutes."

"I stopped seeing the object because it literally dissolved into the sky. It became progressively weaker, although it returned to the same place half and hour later. It should be noted that I had already seen it and videotaped on an earlier occasion, but the best images I've taken are the ones from today. I found out that there was a strong tremor in Mexico City, and without saying that there's a connection between both events, they would appear to coincide."

Chile: Cab Drivers in Iquique Claim UFO Sightings

IQUIQUE - Taxicab drivers queued up outside Iquique's Diego Aracena airport were shocked and surprised by an alleged UFO sighting.

The event occurred as the cab drivers waited for passengers arrving from the flight from Santiago de Chile. They became aware of a bright white light that appeared from the seacoast at high speed.

According to their testimony, the object was a little larger than a star, moved up and down abruptly, flew diagonally over the airport with a zig-zagging motion and then vanished toward the northeast.

The Chilean Air Force's (FACH) Air Operations Center did not detect anything unusual, as reported by La Estrella de Iquique.

ARGENTINA: UFO VIDEOTAPED IN S.E. BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE

A group of fishermen traveling through Coronel Dorrego in the Province of Buenos Aires managed to record what appears to be a UFO. They say it flew over a lagoon near the locality of Oriente, a place where extraterrestrial activity is suspected.

The news was broadcasted by LU24 following a series of sightings that became public after two police officers came forward with a close encounter of the third kind experience involving four "little men".

This new sighting took place on Sunday (Nov.18 2007) at 3:30 a.m. when the fishermen saw "a powerful light aimed at the windshield of the vehicle" in which they traveled to the Tamariscos Lagoon, as Gustavo reported on the Tres Arroyos radio station.

The strong light was spinning over one sector of the lagoon, an activity that went on long enough for the witnesses to be able to videotape the event.

However, the quality of these images was poor due to the fact that a cellphone was used in total darkness. Furthermore, no ground references were taken for comparison purposes. "We stopped seeing that light at daybreak, which was impossible to mistake for a star or other astronomical phenomenon," explained Gustavo, who added: "You had to see it to believe it."

Argentina: Reflections on the Tres Arroyos Case

Re-reading the UFO chronicles of yore is an astonishing experience. It would seem that during the 1970s and to a lesser extent, the 1980s, UFO sightings were commonplace in Tres Arroyos and its surroundings.

Back then it seemed that our city and its environs were a “route and stopping point for flying saucers” (as described by La Voz del Pueblo in a 1973 article). The foremost exponent of Ufology in the country at the time, Prof. Pedro Romaniuk, also stated that the “UFO route passes over Tres Arroyos and Bahia Blanca, reaching all the way to Salta. This is possible thanks to isodynamic lines, which link areas having similar magnetic intensity.”

The most significant case, however, took place one evening in June 1973 and had several simultaneous witnesses. Two men saw a powerful glow followed by the descent of a UFO over an area field. The next day, it was ascertained that a scorched circle was left behind in the area where the object had descended. The same glow was seen by a family driving along in a pickup truck, and who claimed that their vehicle had been tailed closely by an unknown craft before disappearing. In the town of Oriente, almost simultaneously, several people saw an oval, multicolored object that flew at low altitude over the location.

On the night of July 3, 1984, an object was reported by several witnesses almost simultaneously in Oriente, Copetonas and Coronel Pringles: first as a cloud-shape that gave off bright flashes and subsequently as a sphere of light, finally with the unmistakable shape of a UFO.

In 1978 three hunters saw a UFO over Loma del Chapar while traveling in their truck. The object followed them closely until their truck’s motor died and the lights went out.

· A dozen similar cases were recorded in the town and rural surroundings of Tres Arroyos from 1971 to 1988.

· In 1971 a livestock farmer surnamed Calle had his vehicle’s engine and lights suddenly extinguished as he drove from Irene to Oriente. He got out of the car and saw a flying saucer and three enormous circles.

· In October 1972, a family heading from the capital to Tres Arroyos saw a sausage-shaped craft – brilliant and with greenish flashes -- some 15 km from our city. The glow was so intense that it illuminated both the surroundings and the vehicle’s interior.

· That same month, a small landowner witnessed a bright circular object from Cuartel VIII. The next day, his neighbor was faced with a perfect circular shape in the middle of his wheat field. It measured some five meters in diameter and was charred at its center. Plants inside the circle had been dried up and the soil was calcined.

· In October 1973, during early morning hours, a young rural laborer was heading back to town when he saw a square object over the Petrazzini aerodrome. It gave off blinding flashes of red light, descended until it touched the ground and headed toward a neighboring field before disappearing. The boy said he was left paralyzed, unable to make any movement whatsoever.

· In 1978, several witnessed allegedly saw an object with elongated windows that gave off a yellowish light fly over the city.

· In April 1980, with two days’ difference, several local residents claimed having seen UFOs having a similar appearance: circular and surrounded by an intense white light.

· In 1986, “spots” were found in a wheat field near Cascallares, flattened by a centrifugal force greater than three meters.

In 1988 a round, bright yellow-orange object was seen over the Lawn Tennis area for over a minute. Its lower section resembled that of a [child’s] toy top.

MEXICO: Photos of Luminous Object Over Hunucma, Yucatan

*** A report from Ana Luisa Cid ***

On October 25, El Diario de Yucatan reported the sighting of a luminous object over the Mexican town of Hunucmá, which was witnessed by officers of the municipal police.

As was reported at the time, some officers took video images with the cellphones, and while the police director considered that the object could have been a star or satellite, the case drew the attention of researchers from the OVNI MERIDA group who traveled to Hunucma and secured a copy of the video.

Researchers Emilio Cetz and Valentin Cervantes interviewed witnesses and produced a preliminary investigation:

"According to their report, they describe the object as "small ball" from which a potent beam of light emerged, apparently trying to search for something. This light rotated, that is to say, it could light from top to bottom, to the front, and in every direction in a matter of seconds. The light almost hit us in one of those sweeps, said the officers.

They also reported that luminous spheres have often been reported in the Yucatan highways, and they appear to follow the squad cars. They added that policement tend to point their flashlights skyward, and this perhaps attracts the unidentified objects.

With regard to the images, it is evident in some of them that the beam of light appears to be cut off at its end. Emilio Cetz has this to say: "The original video is low quality, but when I checked it in the policeman's cellphone, the frame was not visible. I noticed the square when i got home and changed fromats from 3gp to AVI. Valentin Cervantes, who accompanied me to get the video, is going to make some tests with his cellphone to ascertain if the frames are lens flares, as he owns the same model phone. We have not been able to carry out an investigation to our satisfaction, but we will do so in the future."

Emilio Cetz obtained a copy of the video directly from Police Chief Jose Luis Erosa, and he in turn gave me some unreleased photographs.

OVNI MERIDA researchers will return to the site and will provide more information on this compelling case.

MEXICO: Spherical Object Reported over Mexico City International Airport

According to a report from Alfonso Salazar, a sighting took place over MCIA between 13:00 and 13:15 hours on Friday, November 16, 2007.

Airport personnel particularly those at the Aviacsa PGR hangar and others near Runway 6 witnessed a white flying object that remained static at 8000 meters toward the south of the Mexican capital.

The witnesses report that at aproximately 13:10 hours a Boeing 737-800 passed near the object as it flew from west to east at an altitude similar to that of the possible UFO.

Weather was good, with sunlight and blue skies. The object began to rise into the air toward 13:15 until it lost itself from sight. Researcher Salazar believes that it could not be a weather balloon, as these are launched at 5 am and 5 pm (during winter hours).

Argentina: UFOs Photographed in Tres Arroyos Near Site of Police Incident

The photos were taken by a young woman while she focussed on lights on the horizon. The next day, while playing the digicam's zoom, her father ascertained that they were vehicles similar to the Unidentified Flying Objects seen on the Internet.

A teenage girl from Tres Arroyos photographed a group of UFOs while she spent a weekend fishing with her family at a a lagoon near Oriente. The sighting took place on Wednesday, October 17. However, her father detected the vehicles in the image the next day, while playing with the zoom on his daughter's camera.

Yesterday afternoon, Carlos Fabian Sapag approached La Voz del Pueblo with his wife Marta Daniela Arias and his daughter Carla, 12, to share the images and his experience with our readers.

"It took place on October 17 at the Norrild Lagoon, some 30 kilometers from Oriente heading toward Irene, where the police officers had their experience on Wednesday," Carlos recalled as he thought back to an episode that he is certain he will never again see in his life.

"We were fishing, stopped doing it, and started to boil water while the girl took photos of the horizon. She likes photography a lot and snaps the shutter at everything that moves," explained her dad, whose own experience took place the next day, when he reviewed the images taken by Carla. "The next day, toying with the camera's zoom, we saw there was an airplane in one of the photos. In the measure that I enlarged it, I saw a bunch of little things that were unknown to me. We checked on the Internet and were able to see that they were all lights of the same kind."

Their curiosity ended there. Several days went by without the photo being deleted from the camera's memory until a family friend suggested that they share the image with the press. "We decided to approach the press at a friend's recommendation. Besides, we didn't want this to end up in limbo," he remarked.

Displaying the detail of his images on a computer, Sapag discussed what he felt after the experience. "I don't know what I would do if I experienced something like [what happened] to these policement. I can't imagine. I believe in life in other planets, since there's life here, there must be life elsewhere." He also stated that he had informed himself about the presence of UFOs in the region. "All of the UFOs seen around here appear in bodies of water like lagoons, such as the one at Sierras de los Padres in Mar del Plata. That's where they're usually seen."

Meanwhile, his daughter Carla, who took the images, acknowledged having done so by pure chance and that when she did so, she did not pick up any noises or strange odors, unlike what was described by the police officers from the Oriente station. "I didn't see anything moving. I took [the photo] because I like the combination of colors, and I like photography, " she said.

Before saying farewell, Carlos referred to the way that this experience will influence his life. "I didn't feel like fishing again. I felt fear and the sensation that something's watching one. Yesterday (Sunday) I was going to go, but changed my mind in the end."

The sighting reported by the Sapag Family to thes newspaper took place 4 weeks before the contact experience reported by the police officers from the Aparicio station. The difference with this latter case consists in the chance to see the occupants of the strange vessels."

ARGENTINA: UFOs over Doblas and Macachín

Man claims seeing lights; says one object was round, 30 mt. in diameter and generated heat.

There is commotion in Macachin and Doblas over the sighting of UFOs. Ufologist Fabian Romano, member of the Centro de Estudios UFO en La Pampa (CEUFO) furnished details to this newspaper yesterday regarding two cases recorded on Wednesday and Thursday of last week, one in Doblas and another in Potrillo Oscuro.

The first UFO case occurred at approximately 21:00 hours on Wednesday, November 7 in Bajo de Salinas, located between Kms. 51 and 52 on Provincial Route 18, in the vicinity of Doblas. The main protagonist of this story is Juan Bautista Menna, a known chiropractic surgeon from San Nicolas, Province of Buenos Aires, who told his story to several people minutes later after arriving in Macachin. Later, visibly excited, he contacted with CEUFO's local representative, to whom he not only retold his experience, but also asked him to accompany him on a return trip to the sighting location that very evening, around 23:00 hours. Romano showed this newsroom the film of strange lights over the area.

Menna, says the ufologist, stated that as he traveled on Route 18, [his vehicle] apparently experienced a power outage, causing him to pull over to the roadside. When he tried to get out of the car, he noticed a powerful source of light above him. "It was over my head," he declared. The man claims it was round, some 30 meters in diameter and gave off intense heat. Menna stated that it was a starry, moonless night. The object, he added, moved over a lagoon and headed north. Then it decreased its size and luminous intensity and began engage in a "light show" with horizontal and vertical swinging movements.

Subsequently, the object moved with a constant luminosity toward a hill and vanished behind it, although a strong glow indicated that it remained static. At a given moment, the glow vanished. But suddenly two cone-shape objects with bases reappeared, issuing intense, intermittent flashes (lighting up the entire field) to the front and above. These UFOs headed off toward Santa Rosa (northwest) and went away, turning into a glow until vanishing.

Menna started his car again and resumed his journey to Macachin. Shortly after, he noticed a light behind him which he took for another car. He looked at it through the rear view mirror noticing a strange maneuver. He stopped again, made a U-turn, and noticed that the light was intermittent, with a glow that didn't burn. He estimated that this phenomenon lasted some 40 minutes.

At that time, two truckers who worked for the Gutierrez silo factory reached the site, confirming that they too had been witnessing the phenomenon toward the west. Almost immediately, two police officers from the Doblas Rural Patrol arrived, answering calls that reported vehicles on the roadside. After a brief conversation, [the officers] also admitted seeing the luminous phenomenon.

The next day - November 8, at approximately 22:00 hours, a couple from Macachin had a similar experience. They were driving from Santa Rosa to Macachin along Provincial Route 14 in the vicinity of Potrillo Oscuro. They suddenly became aware of an intense light approaching the road from the right, that is to say, from the south, believing it was another vehicle. However, the light rose into the air in front of them, "made two pirouettes" (two circles) and vanished. They were still stunned by this when two minutes later they witnessed a similar sight. Coinciding with the Doblas case, the distance between both routes is the same and the shape of luminous object is also similar: a cone with a rounded base.

Argentina: An Interview With Guillermo Gimenez of Planeta UFO

Readers of Inexplicata are familiar with the reports on Argentinean UFO and paranormal cases provided by our contributing editor, Guillermo Gimenez, who co-directs the Planeta UFO weblist (with Christian Quintero. Mr. Gimenez took some time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.

Hi Guillermo -- Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to answer some questions for INEXPLICATA. As a researcher, what is your opinion on the case involving the four police officers that had the CE-4 experience near the town of Irene

Hello Scott – well, I can tell you that this is without a doubt a very interesting case, more so when its protagonists were four police officers from the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, holding the ranks of lieutenants and sub-lieutenants. Two of the witnessed not only a large object that came close to them, but also the descent and perception of four small humanoid figures, greenish-hued, large-headed and gray-eyed. You can also add to this the number of witnesses who claim having seen -- between 1 and 2 a.m., the indicated time of the encounter on Wednesday, November 7 – strange lights in the sky and a loud detonation whose source still remains unknown. There are also reports from other localities which I consider to be “hot spots”, such as Coronel Dorrego, Oriente, Tres Arroyos and Necochea, plus the visual testimony of a UFO photographed some days ago at a lagoon near the place where the events occurred. All of this can be added to the veracity of the events.

Can you describe the conditions one finds in rural Argentina? By this I mean the distances to be covered, the population density, the factors that make it ideal for UFO sightings?

The Republic of Argentina is a vast country. Traversing it covers thousands of miles from north to south and east to west. Our fields are fruitful in a number of areas and therefore, distances here are vast, making favorable for UFO events. For example, between my city, which is Necochea, and the neighboring city of Tres Arroyos, there’s a distance of 142 kilometers. There are some homesteads and small localities where strange objects are also reported, as well as encounters with their occupants.

This region is very rich in UFO case histories, and we’ve had all kinds of encounters with beings of various descriptions. Perhaps the first recorded CE-3 case in this region took place in Tres Arroyos around 1940 and its protagonists were also police officers from the Province of Buenos Aires. They witnessed a luminous, disk-shaped object and could see a number of humanoid figures “coming and going,” in the words of Sgt. Vicente and Patrolman Gitani. This sighting impressed them to the extent that they withdrew from the area. A startling case. Imagine what it must’ve been like, Scott, to undergo an experience like this one.

Does this case remind you of other cases involving police officers that ran into UFOs in your country’s rural areas?

Argentina has had many UFO cases involving police officers. I’m reminded of the events of the Julio Orozco case from May 1999 in the province of La Pampa, a region that has always offered rich and interesting case histories. Another would be the one that occurred in Salta, in the vicinity of the Tin Tin straight road, near the Cachi Pass at an elevation of 6100 meters, when a patrol car was escorted by a huge UFO along a beautiful region of our country. This was around May 2001. Another event would be July 2002 incident in the Province of Cordoba, when various law enforcement officers sighted a large object. As you can see, I can keep listing cases, but I think this offer a good sample.

Have you had the chance to investigate any similar cases in Necochea and its environs?

I had the chance to investigate several UFO cases involving police officers as well as regular citizens, highway chases and even encounters with occupants. All of this took place in Province of Buenos Aires, in cities such as Necochea, Miramar, Tres Arroyos, Coronel Dorrego, Oriente, etc., in other words, the same area as the main events. Case histories are abundant and have taken place at different times.

Which ufological mystery intrigues you most?

My interest in ufology came about in the summer of 1977 in my city, Necochea, when I was able to see the maneuvers of a large mothership that crossed the city at a very low altitude and in perfect silence. There were hundreds of witnesses. From that moment I felt the urge to research. I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world and find in various parts of the world (the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, etc.) many encounters that were similar to others that took place enormous distances away and in other times. Surprising cases involving different witnesses. There’s no doubt that cases involving the presence of occupants intrigue me the most. Here in Necochea I have looked into real encounter cases. Our area is rich not only in cases, but in the quantity and quality of the eyewitnesses involved.

Thanks for sharing your insights with us!

Argentina: Region Still Astonished by Police Officer UFO Case

The eyewitness accounts of four law enforcement officers who claim having seen alien beings in the wilderness near Irene have given rise to comments among locals. Were there other witnesses to the mysterious episode?

Residents of Oriente and the region are exchanging bewildered views on the police testimony concerning the encounter with humanoid beings on Wednesday in the vicinity of Irene.

Local residents are making their own remarks and speculating, but the alleged episode, by virtue of having been witnesses by four police officers, sets aside any possibility of hallucination or incorrect perception. The color and shade of the light, indicated as white with greenish flashes, and the strong odor reminiscent of sulfur or gunpower, followed by a report comparable to a thunderclap, all agree with the description of the phenomenon.

“We were sleeping when we heard a noise that was similar to a tire blowout. It jolted us and caused the windows to rattle for a moment. When we looked out the window, we saw nothing unusual and we gave the matter no importance,” said a woman who was surprised by this noise on Wednesday morning. Her testimony is added to that of other locals who heard the rumble but paid it no attention due to the time at which it occurred, and who corroborated their own perception the next day after hearing stories of a UFO manifestation.

Added to these stories are ones from people who drove along rural roads while engaged in farming tasks and observed the white flash in the fields. All conjectures that can be put forth regarding the subject bring up a reality that goes beyond human reason and consequently, leaves behind an aura of mystery to some and of open incredulity to others.

The fact remains that a group of people shared an experience this week that they will not forget for the rest of their lives. This story shall certainly be added to the list of similar experiences transmitted orally by their protagonists, and theories ranging from mistrust to involvement by NASA itself, covering an array of alternatives. A visit by four aliens--standing 80 centimeters and with large gray eyes and greenish skin—shall form part of the local folklore.

ARGENTINA: Police Report UFO and 4 Aliens Near Irene

*** Agents of law enforcement were engaged in routine patrols of local roads. The sighting took place from a pickup truck. The figures observed were short in stature. Bracamonte and Orellano were paralyzed by the strange apportion. Residents of the fields and couple driving along the road witnessed a phenomenon having similar characteristics. ***

The apparition of a strange unidentified flying object, preceded by a enveloping white light, and the sighting of four strange beings in the vicinity of Irene, Coronel Dorrego district, kept residents speculating as to their origin.

The event occurred last Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. when two police agents from the Oriente station reconnoitered the rural area in the vicinity of Irene, specifically at the property of Felipe Fernandez. That is when the inexplicable episode occurred, startling Luis Bracamonte, first lieutant at Oriente, and Osvaldo Orellano, a sub-lieutenant from the same police station. The police officers were engaged in a routine patrol when at one and a half hours past midnight, Orellano got out of the police pickup truck to take a look, while Bracamonte remained aboard.

"At that time I was loading a telephone calling card into my cellphone, and for that reason I remained in the vehicle. While I stared at the phone in my hand, I saw a small light, like that of a pickup truck approaching, but when I saw that it was closing in quickly, the light became larger as though from a large gray pickup truck. I wasn't disturbed by the scene, but at a distance of 10 meters I saw a shape moving and my first thought was that it was a dog. Then I saw that it was a silhouette, like that of a little man, standing approximately 80 centimeters tall, with a large head, large prominent gray eyes and a greenish cast. I then tried to dial my fellow officer's cellphone, but when I pressed the 1 and the 5, my hand remained sort of static. I could see that three more creatures came out of that vehicle or craft, two similar to the first and a fourth with a slightly more robust appearance," said Bracamonte with complete certainty.

The policeman also said that "at that time, my partner was seeing the same thing I was seeing and shouted, "what's going on?!" In a flash, the four little men boarded that craft again and it took off swiftly toward the north, scattering a white light that extinguished itself, leaving behind a green halo and a strong odor of sulfur or gunpowder, making a sound like a thunderclap."

When sub-lieutenant Santiago Walter of the Aparicio station added his testimony to the facts provided by Bracamonte. He had a similar while on patrol a few kilometers away from Irene with police officer Walter Carabajal between 1 and 2 a.m. "We were heading out of [the town] of Nicolas Descalzi toward Aparicio on a routine patrol when we saw a large white light that appeared to engulf us.At that time the pickup stopped dead and I tried to place a call on my cellphone, but there was no signal. My partner, Carabajal, asked me to look up. That's when we saw a powerful light that appeared to stop above our pickup truck and then vanished in a flash," he said in a telephone interview. Walter contacted first lieutenant Damian Sandoval, the officer-in-charge at Oriente, only minutes later, and who was on patrol in the La Turca area, far from his present position. Sandoval reported nothing unusual. When [Walter] checked in with Bracamonte, part of the events and details of their respective experiences coincided. Both men have found no explanation for the event.

Orellano, Bracamonte's partner, acknowledged that the situation was strange, but does not regret having been a witness to it in the least. "When I went back to the pickup truck, Bracamonte was silent, with his hand paralyzed for an unknown reason. For two hours he had some trouble with his eyes, something that made them weep, but nothing major came of it."

Several residents of Oriente confirm the police officers' testimony, claiming having seen a strange glow that surrounded the towns of Irene and Aparicio at the time in question. A couple traveling from to Marisol from Oriente at the stated time saw a light toward Irene that engulfed them from the rear. It could not have been a lightning bold, which made them feel even more curious. Farmworkers also witnessed the glow, which they cannot explain and which has been a source of speculation among locals.

At least a dozen local residents heard a loud report that startled them around 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, which jolted them awake. However, there was no apparent cause of origin. Today, listening to the reports of unidentified creatures, the situation dovetails with the reports given by the policemen.

Uruguay: 50 Years of X-Files

CIOVI, the pioneer organization in the study of the UFO phenomenon, says farewell after half a century without obtaining any proof of alien life. The Uruguayan Air Force receives 40 reports of “sightings” each year.

by ANDRÉS LÓPEZ REILLY

In 2008, the commission that began studying UFOs in Uruguay will celebrate its 50th birthday. It will be a celebration and farewell party, because “people are no longer interested in the subject.” The Uruguayan Air Force, however, received 40 reports of sightings over the past year.

On April 29, 1958, a group of youngsters inaugurated UFO research in Uruguay, inspired by Hollywood-produced “flying saucer” movies and the stories of sightings and strange phenomena arriving from all over the world. They formed the Centro de Investigacion de Objetos Voladores No Identificados (CIOVI – Center For UFO Research).

These Uruguayans are now in their Seventies and openly admit that the force that motivated them at the time was having an encounter with “beings from outer space”.

While dismissed as “crazy” by many, they approached the subject seriously and systematically, to the extent that the investigation system devised by CIOVI was adopted years later by the Uruguayan Air Force’s Comision Receptora de Denuncias Ovni (CRIDOVNI) which has been in operation since 1979.

CIOVI is a non-profit civilian organization which in fact stopped engaging in research years ago, although it maintains a web page and its members remain in touch, always attentive to the news items that emerge all over the world on the subject. The only two members who remain from the original group are Milton Hourcade, who currently resides in the U.S.A., and German Vazquez, whose employment in the personnel office of the defunct “Alpargatas” factory made him the ideal choice for interviewing UFO sighting witnesses.

The remaining six members make up the current board of CIOCI, which shall celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. However, its birthday party shall be its farewell party, because “people have lost interest in the subject and are no longer surprised about anything,” said German Valdez to El Pais in an interview from his home in the Malvin district. 50 yeas later, Vazquez summarizes CIOVI’s research in a single phrase that many may not care to hear: “The UFO phenomenon exists, but it’s sociological. If intelligent alien life exists, it never reached Planet Earth.”

Attraction for “flying saucers” began on June 24, 1947 in the U.S. when Kenneth Arnold saw 9 objects rising and falling amid the peaks of Mount Rainier. “Arnold said they were like saucers skipping on water. Had the pilot been Uruguayan, he would have said “haciendo sapito” (making like small toads). He never said they were flying saucers. When he drew the object, he depicted them with a triangular shape,” added CRIOVNI’s founder.

“The press took hold of the expression and talk of flying saucers began. But what is curious and most eye-catching is that after Arnold, who did not see them, everyone began talking about saucers,” Vazquez continued. “I always tell my comrades, when I see someone who brings me a photo of a saucer-shaped object, I begin to mistrust. This was a journalistic invention with no basis in reality.”

The most typical UFO pilgrimage place in Uruguay by those who want to have some sort of “contact” experience is the La Aurora de Salto ranch, where a strange phenomenon occurred in the 1970s which, according to researchers, was purely meteorological.

CRYONIC shares Cove's belief that no strange phenomenon ever occurred in “La Aurora”.

Sources of the Uruguayan Air Force told El Pays that the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, visited the ranch on two occasions as a reporter for Newsweek, researching claims on sightings and strange phenomena, but “never as a representative for NASA”.

La Aurora is a agricultural and livestock ranch located only a few meters from the Salt-Payson bridge over the Drayman River. The ranch extends into both of these departments.

In a recent report on the Santos Pendants program of El Spectator, one of the ranch’s owners, Tulia Tuna, recalled the event that made the place prominent 31 years ago. “What we witnessed was as from February 1976. Very powerful lights appeared out of nowhere producing burns on trees, animals and people. That’s what we saw. Then a very powerful light would light up all of the ranches in the vicinity at night. And well, people saw it. It was hard to conceal this because the whole world could see what was going on.”

This phenomenon, described by the Uruguayan Air Force and COVE as “ball lightning”, left the soil charred and some dead animals were found.

“A local doctor from Salt began picking up radiation and some Japanese working at the Salt Grande Dam came over with a gadget that uncovered the presence of high radiation. And that’s what happened to famous Mob tree. It was necessary to close the doors, obviously, out of a concern for people and some stories that circulated that were untrue,” said Tuna.

Access to Estancia La Aurora is through a dirt road that splits off from Route 3. It is not a tourist ranch, as many believe, although it is a popular destination due to is proximity to the well-known Padre Pio grotto.

German Vazquez warns that “some people profit off of this subject” and charge up to $2000 for a visit to La Aurora. “They prepare you for what you’re going to see and then they make you see what they want,” he stated. “A friend paid $2000. He brought some binoculars along and he was told to stare at a fixed point. When he did so, all he saw was a star. Other people wept and said “We saw it! We saw it!,” he explained.

CHILE: UFO IMAGE CAUSES WIDESPREAD SURPRISE

*** Vanished after making loud reports; hundreds witnessed event which surprised even ufologists** *

See Picture.

The startling and crisp images of what would appear to be a UFO sighting recorded in broad daylight caused consternation among hundreds of witnesses only days ago.

The subject drew the attention of local and national experts in ufology. Some photographs and vidcaps of the strange event have been collected, all taken by amateurs. Althought the clarity of these images has caused doubt among the researchers, who suspect a photomontage, they have been startled and even more interested in the subject upon learning of the existence of a video, since this would attest to the truthfulness of the event.

In spite of the fact that this spectacular sighting took place over the skies of Salamanca (Chile) in the nation's 4th Region, it represents the continuation of what occured the previous evening in this location. This arises from the account given by Vladimir Puebla, who works for a bus company that covers the Valparaiso-Salamanc a route and who also works as a cameraman for Channel 4 in the 4th Region. "The night before the event in Salamanca, I was traveling from Valparaiso toward that location. In the vicinity of Quillota, I noticed a light that began to exhibit strange movements," he explained.

But what hundreds of people saw the next day between 13:30 and 13:40 hours, over the skies of Salamanca, was even more impressive, said Puebla. "For 10 minutes, the object was suspended in the sky. Later, some loud reports were heard, lights resembling flares could be seen, and the object disappeared."

This fact was confirmed by people working for radio broadcasters and one local TV channel, who were also aware of the event. "Many people confirmed this event. Reports were even filed with Carabineros (Chilean state police)," said Sixto Quiroga, the assistant director for Channel 4 in Salamanca.
