arrived yesterday fron Pyramyd, they had been out for a while.Serial # in the 1,500,xxx range.
Came with RWS mounts, that had droop comp built in,it didn`t have any droop,so had to turn the scope down 1.5 full turns. It`s a shame they finally found a way to make a gun without droop, but now supply quality droop mounts?
I knew it was making good power,as it was shooting cpl`s 870 stock, with some smoke.
This one had some Euro type lube on the piston, and the spring was dry.
They now have a black piston seal, for some reason.
The Bad:
scratch on the barrel
now no rubber on the butt pad, hard plastic(older Panther has rubber)
sharp edges on the under side of cocking slot had to round off
piston latch rod is loose in the piston, like my 350 FC,not sure if this is an issue
the heavy pickle, that will come loose after 2 shots, hope Blue LT holds
the little sleeve that goes thru the breechblock has much more slop than older Diana`s,maybe also a non-issue if it has consistent thickness,if not lock-up could be slightly off from shot to shot if this sleeve rotates in the hole
The good:
very good quality barrel bore, pellet feels good pushing thru bore, and bore is nice&tight, even on Superdome pellets
very good power
good looking gun overall
early on it seems to have super good accuracy
RWS 3x9x40 AO scope has very sharp optics
I tuned the TO6 trigger.Couldn`t use my lighter spring on the TO6,so I cut 2 coils from the factory spring&stretched it a tad.The lower sear the trigger screws work on has casting pits, had to hone these out&lube. It feels very good now. That Pickle muzzle weight has 2 small screws, and 2 holes drilled in to the bottom of the barrel, holes in barrel are un-threaded
Overall I`m very impressed with this gun,and for $240 with scope&mount is probally the best airgun bargain around!
