I have a recently bought a model 48 built in dec of 95. I don't know how many shots have gone though it but I doubt more than a few tins. I believe it to have the original seal and spring, It sure sounds "buzzy" compared to my m34 with the macarri spring and seal and tar of course.

I tried 3 types of pellets. Crossman premier Hollow points,RWS super h point, and beeman (H&N) match.

      H&N match went like this, 846.5 843.5 849.2 828.3 845.1 835.6 844.0 840.0 826.9 820.8

      CPHP 842 832 839 830 829 843 840 842 825 851

      Super-H-Point 844 846 846 838 843 851 840 844 822

      H&N match weighed 13.5 grains

      CPHP weighed 14.2 grains

      Super-H-Point. 14.5 grains

My chrony was 5 feet from the muzzle of my rifle.

I also discovered that 4 or 5 shots at the same spot blows a hole clean through and aging 2X4 at 30 feet.
