the scope rings/bases were not apropriate for the gun. the rear base was against the screw at the back of the mount and the rings had only one clamping screw per side. I could see were the scope had been sliding in the mounts, so I just removed it before it broke the screw off the rear of the mount base. I have a proper base on order from PA. so when that comes in I will be able to give info as to accuracy.. When i was chronographing I was shooting offhand with open sights at a set of 2x4's that were about 30 feet away and groups around a nickle size for 5 shots were quite easy (i am quite a good shot on things that aren't breathing thank you very much). Thats how I found out that it didn't take alot of shots (4 to 5) to punch all the way through.
The barrel needs a good carefull cleaning though. I can see alot of lead when I get out the old magnifiers for a good look. i will get that done this week, I have treated a group of pellets with some ballistol to hopefully prevent future leading. It should work I think, it is German after all.
