I just purchased a Diana Mod. 75 T 01 that was in new condition (paid $489). The date stamp is 04 92 and it has a rear sight marked 100. It did not come with an owners manual. I contacted RWS and they said they would check to see if they could copy one of their originals. In case they don't have it, does anyone have a manual they would sell me or possibly in digital format? I am a complete neophyte on this and don't even know how to do the basic maintenence on the gun. I am still checking out how well it groups. Assuming that it has original seals, I may send it to Neal Johnson's over in Colorado to be gone through. What do some other 75 owners recommend for basic maintenance. I don't see anything like a hole that says "Oil here". I did order the RWS shooters kit with all the supplies I think I will initially need. Best pellets for other 75 owners?
I'm sure "King Marc of the 75's" will chime in here soon, but your gun probably does not need any maintenance at all. A 75 of that vintage should have (I think?) the definitive and long-lasting piston seals made of blue synthetic material, and the chamber is lubed with dry moly grease that is more or less permanent.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have an expert go through it when it shows evidence of some problem, but frankly for now I'd just enjoy shooting it!
You oil most spring-piston guns through the transfer port (the little hole in the front of the sliding breech sleeve). But again, I wouldn't!
BTW the model 100 rear sight is fairly rare and much nicer than the usual "Diopter 75" sight seen on these guns.
