If there repairs are so great why is my Mod.49 setting in New Jersy waiting to be fixed again for the same problem in less than 1 year and about 1500 shots? The only thing good about them was the turnaround time, about 1 week.
They don't seem to be answering yet, and I guess the effective date is 2/28. I will call then to see what it costs to rebuild a 75. Before the move to AE, it was $75. Then it went to $150. As I've posted before, the tech at NJ was VERY knowledgable about my 75, a HyScore variant. AE didn't know diddly and talked me into buying a sight set for it on AA that they were sure would fit. When they didn't, AE offerred to give it a try for about $100 plus shipping. That's if they could "make them work". If not, it was going to be something like $30 for "trying". No thanks.

Re: Read It Officially Here. AGE's statement of No longer servicing RWS

Just ordered and installed parts for my 350 from AGE. The prices on the web page are wrong to the tune of more than 20 percent. Shame on me for not asking when calling in the order and going by the web page. Hey, keep the change. That's the last time I order from AGE for anything airgun related.
Don't bother ,I talked to a lady there yesterday ,she said that the repair tech would not be back in the shop until Feb.22.She also said they have no parts and are not set up yet.My rifle that they already have may be there for 2 months,I sure hope not.
If it's any consolation, when I first picked up the HyScore, I talked with the tech in NJ. I needed sights and perhaps an overhaul. He told me that my gun had a different diameter barrel, et cetera. Really knew it cold. If this is the same guy, he will be worth the wait. AE struck me as, well, jerks. There, I said it. Like I've posted before, they assured me an RWS target sight set I was watching on auction would fit and the price was a steal. A) my rifle has a very odd shaped mount on top (early 75?) which doesn't take this later receiver sight and b) I didn't get the front barrel weight that the globe sight sit on so I can't use that one, either. Of course, it was my choice to buy the set, but I feel that the NJ shop would have given me fair warning on the fit. Wouldn't have bought them, otherwise. Let's see how the new shop is. Would you keep us posted on your service?
Just talked with New Jersey about my 75. Sounded like the same guy who was there a couple years ago. Asked how much to overhaul and he, again, quoted me $75 - $100. AE price was $150. Very helpful, too. Told him I was glad to have them back!
He was the original tech in NJ. I've met him and he has done warr.repairs for me when the repair center was in Closter NJ. He is Great in all respects and very knowledgeable and accomadating, I'm glad that repairs are done there again and RWS customers are in good hands.

Tim tried weaseling me out of a warranty claim on a cracked stock on a two week old 54 while he was working for AGE. 200 shots and it cracked from the trigger guard front screw forward on the left hand side. Tim tried to explain to me over the phone how it had to be my fault and they don't warranty stocks from cracking. This on a side cocker. And in New Jersey, anyone who could help me was out of the office until next week or the day after I quit calling. Told me I could have a new stock for $400. Drove out to Montezuma and was helped by Dan at AGE. He installed a brand new stock that did not fit correctly and then installed another one that did fit. Told me that it was obviously a warranty issue and sent me on my way free of charge. Sometimes the face to face approach works best, especially when you look like a disgruntled criminal marching through the front door with a gun case and asking to speak with the person who is trying to fornicate me out of a legitimate claim. I have nothing good to say about RWS or Tim C. Leigh Wilcox, on the other hand, promotes the best gun shows in Iowa and has made a huge commitment to the airgun industy by stocking a good sized building with rack after rack of inventory. And they're right next door to Brownells.
