This is one for the old guys. I have finally been re-united with my Gecado 25D, which I first owned about 46 years ago. Its Serial Number is 350! Is anyone able to identify the year of manufacture? The gun was originally purchased in Australia, if that helps. Thanks,

 Shekel,

Reuniting with an old friend such as the old 25 is a treat! Such a thing is very lucky and rare!

You might have some difficulty dating the rifle because most of the very early Dianas didn't carry the reciever date stamp (In fact many 1970's don't).

Try to get a picture of the rifle and send it to me at ZVP13@hotmail.com, I will forward it to Dr. Beeman and he can archive it for reference and possible use in his BlueBook of Airgun Values series of books. (No guarentee he could publish it, OK?)  We could also post it here also and I'm sure the picture would be a huge benifit in identifying other peoples early guns!

 Happy for ya!

 ZVP

Gecado 25

Congrats, that's a neat find. I still have the Benjamin rifle that "Santa Claus" brought me as a boy in 1968, so I know the feeling!

Diana guns that were sold here in the US, did not seem to carry either serial numbers, or date stamps, until the early 1960's. I don't know if this was true in other markets. True Diana factory serials that I have seen are always more than 3 digits, too. So, the "350" on your gun could indicate a gun made right after serials were introduced. But I have a hunch the number may be something other than a factory serial, and perhaps unique to the Australian market.

As ZVP said, we'd love to see a picture of this one!
