I'm about to become an RWS 54 Air King owner (.22). After looking at all the posts about the scope mounting problem with the rifle I am puzzled. I've never mounted a scope on a recoiless rifle so This will be something new. Why is there a problem with scope movement if the rifle doesn't? Scoping a pnuematic presents no problem since there is no recoil. How does a recoiless rifle differ in this respect?

The 54 is not recoilless. The recoil is just isolated from the shooter by the sled mechanism. Since the scope is mounted to the action it takes the full force of the recoil.

Thank you!

That splains it. Now if we had really, really BIG mount that would fit on each side of the stock....
