RWS vs Diana Warranty--The New Procedures?

Based on a post by Gary, copied below, I see that he got his RWS 48 warranty work done in New Jersey. This is a change, Airgun Express WAS the warranty center the last few years. I already have some of it I figured out, but would appreciate a more thorough explanation.

AGE was doing all the RWS warranty work, but of course they are now dumping "RWS" labeled stock to buy directly from Diana (to cut out middle man I guess).

Will "RWS" labeled guns go back to New Jersey for warranty work, but strictly-"Diana" guns go back to AGE for service? Will both places sell parts? Any updates appreciated. (This is as complicated as politics!)

TIA,

Ed

Found Some Answers Myself

As posted on AGE site.

I still wonder about warranty service of these direct-import "Diana" items purchased through AGE. Hard to believe RWS in New Jersey would touch them--sort of like Beeman's hands-off policy regarding Webleys, Theobens, etc, that are not tagged "Beeman". They tell you to send them back to UK! (David Slade does some work on those with his side business, maybe all paid though, not sure).

Regards,

Ed

Thanks!

 Ed,

I really appreciate your running that down and posting it here for everyone to read! My take also is that we now can send everything to the two centers you have listed.

However, I am sure that folks wanting to send their guns to other airgunsmiths like yourself, will still be able to get the work, tunes, and customizations, done because you all will still have availibility to factory parts, just from a different source.

No Problem

ZVP,

You're welcome. I'm confidant that one or both places will sell parts to tuners and owners. My concern was regarding free warranty service. Owners like and need a convenient recourse for such things. I'll also be curious to see if any pricing advantages occur as a result of direct import by AGE.

I expect to see further clarification about all of it as time goes by.

Regards,

Ed
