I've ordered a Busnell Banner 4-12x40 for either my 34 or 48. Will this scope hold up for either one? I've been told it is a good solid scope but I know the 48 is a bit of a scope eater. I'd like any opinions and thanks in advance for the help.
I would say it rally depends on the behaviour of the gun itself. No two guns even if they are the same make and model recoil the same but that being said. The banner you mentioned is not for the magnum recoiling airguns. Although I have seen it packaged with A RWS 350 magnum. In fact I had one on my 350 magnum. After over 10,000 rounds it failed to hold zero, but the spring in the gun broke as well. Not sure if that made the scope loose its holding ability or not. The end result is the same it did not last on the magnum recoil of the 350. Make sure you get a good solid mount.

I'll tell you the trouth though, 10,000 rounds is a lot of recoils and I would be happy if I got that many. I'll put it on the 34. It is a pretty smooth shooter. Thanks for the insight.
best suited for a "medium" recoil airgun. Anyway got a new one on my older RX and it's holding up okay. Shootin' about 880 fps with .177 H&N's so this RX was probably "tuned down" a little from factory specs. Recoil is there, but linear and not harsh.
and that scope is rated for "adult" air rifles. That came right from Bushnell. Also my friend has one on his Tomahawk and it seems to be doing alright, although his is the older generation that was made in Japan. Mine is made in Korea.
Isn't that the scope Beeman puts on the Goldfinger from the factory. I would think and hope it holds up on that rifle and others as the 34 also. Anyone heard of them breaking down??
Yes the same scope was packaged with a friend of mines R9 right from Beeman. The R9 is listed as being 930 fps. Magnum springers are anything 1000 fps or over to my knowledge I could be wrong on that assumption so someone please correct me if I am wrong. The Banner mentioned is a airgun rated scope. I just meant it is better suited for med recoiling springers and not a magnum springer. Not that you can't put it on a magnum and have good luck with it. Straight Shooters has scopes listed by light med and heavy recoiling standards. It is a good basic guide to follow that they know will work. A few of my friends have the same banner 4x1240mm scope and they have never had a problem with it some are med springers and some are magnums.
