I did a little chrony work with my P5 and was wondering if anyone had similar results. As far as group sizes go I found many pellets to perform about the same. I tried RWS Superdome, Superpoint, H&N Silhouette, JSB Straton, 4.52 Exact and also JSB s100 match pellets. My pistol has a less felt recoil using pellets over 8gr than using lighter pellets and seems to group better with them. I found that with pellets of 4.5mm head size you got 4.8-5ft/lbs and the larger pellets (4.52 Exact) only about 4.2ft/lbs. I'm waiting on some 4.49mm pellets to see if the power level goes up any.
Hello, I can't give any power numbers for my P5, but I do get the best groups from the JSB Exacts(4.52), at least for out to 40ft which is as far as I've been able to use it so far. I can't wait to get out and spend some time shooting outside again.
The Exacts did quite well in mine too. I think the Superdomes and Stratons may have been slightly tighter for grouping. I may see if Scott has Exacts in 4.5 as it seems the P5 has a tight barrel and the 4.52 lose power to friction. I actually found the pistol to like most 8+gr pellets as far as accuracy goes. Now I'm looking for both accuracy and power.
