I've got a b20 that's been cut down at a tight spot in the barrel about 1 to 2cm from the end of the front sight. It's much louder now but still shoots very well. In fact it is more consistant than my 350. Fabricated a moderator that cut the perceived noise down to below stock levels but I'm wondering if anyone has a different design that might do better. From what I can tell, the one that I fabbed needs more volume to increase it's efficiency. THX

Two things

First.- You cut off the choke. It is nice that it still shoots well, not many guns will. Consider yourself lucky. Chokes are there to provide the last bit of power/push/MV to the pellet, it works well because of the design of the skirted/diabolo pellet. Anyway, it's good that your gun still shoots well.

Second.- if you live in the US, moderators are illegal, it is a moderator if it reduces the report of a gun (the law does not make a distinction between powder burning and air guns), or if it has the parts that can be transformed into a moderator. Be careful. If you do not live in the US, there are plenty of good designs in a book called "Big book of Silencers", or you can try getting the book "The Modern Pneumatic Airgun".

There wasn't much of a choke to begin with, Chinese quality and all. Just cut it at the tight spot in the barrel and recrowned. Very happy with the mod.
