I just purchased the HW-77k but im unhappy regarding the stock's color. I was expecting it to be of darker color like the one i saw on demo (but on demo it was the HW-57) and instead of getting the one i was expecting i got this:

I purchased the gun from Greece. Is this difference in stock color between HW-77 and HW-57 the same on other countries as well?

Looks great to me. Darker would cover up the grain.

I had a HW35 that was fairly dark and the

stock was walnut. I think the HW77 is a nice looking gun in any event.

thats looks like

a typical example of a beech stocked German air rifle.
Almost all of the beech stocked HW or Diana guns I have are about the same color. I think the demo pic is either a walnut stock or a photoshop mock-up. I do have a walnut HW35 that has the same dark stock as the picture though.

Vincent, looks normal for a HW77K beech wood stock

Two of mine have a light tone stain similar to what you are showing, another one (HW77K .20) has a dark tone stain but no where near as dark as the photo you posted of the sample rifle. The sample photo is darker than my walnut Thumbhole Sporter HW77K .177.

Still a good looking rifle from the photo.

You'll enjoy shooting it, shoot it in good health.

If the light color makes you crazy, Macarri has a couple of good looking walnut stocks for that rifle and the inletting is as tight as the factory furniture. P. Watts and R. Best do a good performance hunting or FT tune on 77's.
