| - Any of you old Diana fans know if any of the 50's were built without beartraps?

As far as I know, the ONLY version of the model 50 to have a beartrap safety were the last examples with the angular stock, built around 1979 to 82. This was about the same time as the "S" versions of the models 25, 27, and 35 (the 35S had the same safety).
Even earlier models with the angular stock kept the old action--I used to have a 1978 one with no beartrap. The angular stock is pictured on the front cover of Hiller's "Air Rifles" 4th edition.
On all previous model 50's, not smashing your fingers is totally your own responsibility. The subsequent model 50 T01 discarded the beartrap in favor of the original model 45's auto trigger safety. |

I hit Chambers site for a few minutes and their 50 shows a beartrap. Mine doesn't even have a mortise in the stock for one. A very intersting gun.
