scope too low on diana 34- helpMay 10 2005 at 4:47 AM | MC (no login) from IP address 216.8.159.40 |
| - I purchased a bushnell airgun scope for my diana 34, but the scope cannot go any higher and shoots 4 inches too low.
Do I have to shim the diana base?
Please help,
Thanks |

there are several ways of dealing with it , you can shim the scope rings useing pop can material or pop bottle plastic .You cut to size and place on the bottom side on the rear mount top side on front one ( to point towards poi). You can also buy special drooper mounts from BKL OR MILLET they can adjust for droop.OR there is the dreaded barrel bending ( not for the faint of heart ) the barrel is bent upwards to allow for the vertical adjustment to be in the middle of its range , this is best done by a pro ..but many use 2x4's or hydrolics and it works ..I would try the shimming if that works fine if not buy a drooper mount .

Thanks Frank,
I just got a actual diana mount and will try that first.
if that does not work I will try to shim.
Question, are you suppose to see the front iron sights in the scope,
or do you guys remove them when putting a scope on? |

you may get a slight blurry image of it , it won't prevent you from getting a good target aquisition
if it bothers you remove it .
