Hi All!
I am new to this list, and just purchased an RWS 54 .22 caliber. It has a slightly modofied original stock, and I would like to find a factory original stock. Also looking for an aftermarket stock, something like the Kueng custom stock. Not really fond of the Tyrolean style, so the Maccari is out. Any leades????
THANKS!
Tim

Diana 54 furniture upgrade

May 22 2005, 7:00 AM

Tim, other than having Mike A., Paul B., Dave G, Jan K. or one of the key stock makers fabricate you a custom walnut or exotic wood stock, the Custom Stock from England on my Diana 52 looks, feels and fits very well. It is a nice stock and added better hold control of the rifle with the thumbhole design. That's a subjective personal thing.

Like the other gentleman said, they are a bear to get a hold of, phone number only and no email address. If memory serves me correct, Pomona Airguns was a dealer for them at one time. You'll have to check.

Jim Macarri has a nice Diana 54 stock in walnut and Paul W. is doing finishing work on these right now for a very resonable price including stippling the hold areas. He did my walnut Thumbhole Sporter and I'm very satified with his work. You can get it tuned the same time it is there.

If and when you satin black rubberize texture coat the one you have, please post or email me a photo.

This is the site for CS in England:

Jon,

I talked with Maccari via e-mail, and he is not making anything other than the Tyrolean stock for the 54. When I chatted with Paul on the phone (great guy, very helpful), he was unable to reccomend any other aftermarket stocks for the 54. I e-mailed Custom Stock, so we can see how that goes.

Who are the other stock makers you list? Do you have contact info for them?

I am quite sure all this is not necessary, as the modified stock on the 54 is fine. But I find I am entirely to anal to leave anything alone, and I will not be happy until I have spent at least 2-3 times as much money as I needed to spend! After all, doesn't everyone need 2 or 3 stocks for their air rifle?

I mounted up the Busnell Elite 4200 Mil Dot on the Beeman adjustable mount today. Looks great. I hope to sight it in this week, and then start having some real fun!

Tim,

May 22 2005, 10:56 PM

We'll talk on the phone during the week. I'll put a list of numbers together for you.

I sensed you were being, well how do I put it, "in the spirit of the hobby". I had four different stocks here at one time for my HW77K, and currently have two for my 400 Classic and number three on the way. I'll end up keeping one of them.

Have fun sighting the 54 in. You'll find it to be quite accurate with plenty of FPE for hunting varmints. About a week before you purchased it I took out a squirrel at 80 yards with a behind the ear head shot off the bench rest. Never knew what hit him or she (could have been an "it" being a California squirrel).

Talk to you soon. Just got back, 10:55PM, we spent the second half of the day in the Pacific and I need to shower off the salt. The water was rough and the fun starts after the sun goes down and it gets real dark out there.

Jon - San Diego
