My previous post I was in much grief for not getting good accuracy from my Diana 34 in .22. The gun was brought back to the shop.

Today I went to another gun shop farther away from home and purchased a 34 in .177 convinced that the gun has to shoot well.

Man what a difference, even without the scope the gun shoots tiny ragged holes from various shooting positions.
the zero point is maintained standing, sitting, prone and on rest with great looking groups.

The first 34 I bought had to have had a problem, some kind of over knocking of the spring. I am happy that my new 34 is shooting well but kind of upset regarding the first one because I lost a lot money on it. The gun shop would not give back my money in full, they bought it back from me wholesale.

I feel sorry for the next guy that ends up with that first rifle.

glad to hear it. The end of your last post had me thinking "damn, lost another one, too bad.." They really are great guns and your experience must have been a fluke. Now the problem becomes not getting too addicted to them. The first gun leads to the second, the second leaves you hot to get a third and after the third the fire kinda cools a little until you start thinking about how neat the pistols must be if the rifles are this great

I certainly will not purchase another one from the local shop, since they made no attempt to investigate to see if there is a problem.

I already have my eyes on the Stutzen manlicher stock. Absolutely gorgeous.

I've got a .177 34N that I've had for about a year now, and its one impressive shooter. After you get it all nicely broken in, consider Jim Maccari's GSI kit. It takes some of the bark out of the gun, without reducing its bite.

My 34 is fast becoming my choice for long distance shooting. My best ever, (and in no way typical for me) group was 2 1/4 inches at 110 yds.

Diana makes GREAT .177 barrels. Now you gotta start looking for a nice 70's vintage 27, as a suitable stablemate.

All Hail the Goddess of the Hunt!

I think we're all bozos on this bus.
