A trio of "Not Diana's from my small collection.

From the top, a Gamo 500 Sporter, Middle a Daisy Model 130 "B", Bottom, a Daisy 120. All made by Gamo Inc. and all have proven reliable, accurate, economical to purchase, and dependable!

Power-wise, the 500 is quoted to be in the 760 fps range, the Daisy 130"B" gives over 650 with the right pellets, and the snappy, little Daisy 120 Carbine is just being broken-in, but is claimed to give 500 fps (It's pretty healthy tho! The first few shots punched both sides of a steel juice can @ 30 yards!)  IMHO, Gamo seems to under quote some of the lesser rifle and carbine velocitys...

Triggers on the 500 and 130 are crudelly adjustable, and with a little effort I've gotten em pretty crisp. The 120 is non-adjustable, and needs some work yet to remove the "Big Brother" 5+# safety pull. Trigger shoess help with comfort and control. Yes the CharlieDaTuna Trigger units will fit the adjustable trigger guns.

Barrels on the Polymer shrouded guns are very accurate and lock-up is solid and consistant. The 120 has a strong wedge type lock and it's rifling sems on par with the usual good quality of Gamo BBL's.

The Southern European Beechwood is tight grained, mildlly figured, and very nicelly cut and finished! Inletting and finish inside the stocks is very clean, crisp, and free of splinters or rough edges. Nice work!

I can only assume this wood finishing is a Gamo "Standard", as the rifles come from three different decades, and likelly, 3 diferent craftsmen (maybe even Factories?). The cut of the little 120 (aka: Gamo Cadet) is an interesting pattern with it's curved butt and adult length grip to trigger face spacing.

All are used for informal Target and Plinking, and the 500 and 130"B" have shown themselves to be quite target capable over a bench out to 50 yards! Hopefully, the little 120 will show itself likewise, once broken-in.

Each rifle has its own specific pellet preference as usual, and finding it's favorite took a lot of testing (yea, an awfull chore, huh?).

Sometimes, it pays to "swim against the current" so to speak, and own different brands (even Brands who's reputations have been beaten to death on various Forums). Oftimes one needs to reserch these different Brands in spite of Bashing.... I'm sure havin FUN with this trio of "Misfits"!

 Be safe all,

 ZVP

Dave, you have a way of finding the virtues and getting the best out of those "under the radar" guns!

The older Gamo guns like these have some nice features and are well-made. I've spent a little time with a 120 a co-worker bought for his grandson. I never quite mastered the trigger but it's a stout and accurate little rifle.

Thanks for the pic!

That's funny!

 Mike,

The little Daisy120/Gamo Cadet is one  of the ones that's always intrigued me. The basics are all there, good powerplant, good barrel , and compact "carbine" configuration. The only drawback (as you noted) is the single lever, heavilly spring loaded trigger pull. After Break-in (this one is nearlly Brand New!), I am going to work on that... I'm thinking a healthy set of "witness marks" will be a good guide to needed metal removal/re-shaping. I'm in no rush, free time to work on em comes sparinglly.

A while back, I missed out on a rare .22 Cal version of the Cadet, but It'd probablly been nearlly as anemic as my Daisy 230 is (tho it is accurate!) The .177 Cal 120 is proving out a whole lot better for Plinking purposes because of it's flat trajectory anyway! I'm sure since it's your "pet" caliber, you can identify with the value of the .177 for that.

I've been playing with these three Gamo's since I got the HW-55 done,I know they'll never compete, but it's fun getting them tweeked into good Plinkers as best as I can.  Gamo built some pretty nice stuff!
