I was considering trying to get together a group that could place an order with Leapers. The general idea would be to have a TS scope (spring gun rated) that would be ideal for airgunners.
In principle, my ideal scope for airgunning would be a 5-20X with a 56 mm's glass up front.
Reticule would be in the first focal plane and would have graduations of 1/4 mil, both horizontal and vertical, so that "Kentucky Windage" and "Arkansas Elevation" would take a real measured meaning. For close up shots and /or shots in less than perfect illumination, some hash marks would have to be thicker, I'ld rather go this route than lighted reticules that place dependency on yet another device inside the scope.
30 mmm's tube and sidefocuseable, the sunshade, big wheel and honeycomb glare killer would be all optional.
Expected price would be in the US$200 region, give or take US$50.
Questions are:
1.- ¿How many of you would be interested?
2.- ¿What do you like, or do not like about this spec?
It would indeed be a nice thing to have such a scope made in a special series. The price seams reasonable but I was wondering about the specs: 5-20x56.
Of course 20x is enough for air rifle hunting distances, but should one want to participate in the growing sport of field and target, this may be borderline and a larger magnification may be desirable, because of the range estimation that becomes easier with more powerful scopes.
Anyway it is a nice idea and I would like to buy such a scope.
Kind regards,
Joris

I would like to see Leapers make a spring-rated scope with at least 24x magnification (fixed or variable) and a 50 (or forty, even) objective lens, with a 30mm tube, side-focusable to 10meters/yards.
Show me such a scope and I will buy it before you can say "Mil-Dot"!
It seems to be destined for airguns but it doesn't specify which, PCPs or springers. Looks neat, but...Here is the link: http://www.millettsights.com/open.html
