A total renovation was done upon getting diana 35. She went thru a piston polish, new washers, original spring as well a new rear guide made of nylon plus a top hat. She went thru the usual service with moly past as well as black tar from maccari. Getting around 1.5in to 2.5in out to 35 yds. providing i do my part. Like my diana a lot. she gets to follow me out as often as possible.

Regards to all.

p.s. can't wait to lay my hands on diana 34 when i shall pick her up tommorow. its a date which i can hardly wait for. i hear she has some nice curves.

That is a VERY hot shooting Model 35

Most only do between 700-735 fps with JSB's and that is when they are in top shape. Whatever you did seems to have worked, as long as it is not desieling.

Hi 6talldog,

It did diesel intially due to the leather washer being soaked in oil. but that was sometime ago. Did try JSB 4.51mm lubed with napier pellet lube. Got a harsh bark at the muzzle, velocity went down between 770-780. I got these result with JSB 4.50mm and no pellet lube. she sounds more pleasant to my ears now. Trying to figure out how to paste in a photo of her.

regards

Springers need to be as held lightly as possible for long shots

October 1 2005, 1:21 AM

Try to hold as lightly, i.e. by not fisting the grip and forend, as possible. I often rest the rifle on my shoulder, the forend goes on the soft cushion of my left hand -- without the thumb/fingers touching the stock -- and resting my thumb against the rear of the trigger-guard I pull the trigger with the tip of my index finger -- without touching the grip at all. This special technique allows me to hit @ two inches wide targets @ 50metrs using a Leupold 3-9x33 EFR. Try it, it works. I was taught this type of springer airgun shooting by a benchrest champ, in the 1980s.
