I was wondering if anyone uses a Diana 54 in FT? I've been shopping for a AA TX200SR and haven't had much success in locating one, which has got me thinking about the 54. It seems to me the 54 and TXSR share a similar recoilless action, weight is close, I guess the major differences would be the power output, trigger and barrel quality. Has anyone detuned a 54 to say 13-14ftlbs? Is it even possible? Can the trigger be smoothed out to be compareable to a Rekord or AA's unit? Finally is the barrel quality compareable to HW?, Lothar Walther? I've never owned a Diana rifle, and am curently shooting a TX200 MKIII for FT, but the idea of a recoilless rifle has got my curiosity, and if the 54 could be polished up it may make for a nice FT rifle for next season.

TIA

On either Auction Arms or Gun Broker, there was a 12 Ft./Lb. kit for sale last week. I will have a go at FT with my 54(.177) once I get more practice in...its at full power, i.e. FTS @1,001 fps, with a trigger set at ounces...

Regards,

Tony
