Great, as I am in the process of acquiring a D75 (possibly U, if the price is right), as I was wondering if a long optical sight (scope), would block access to the loading port. Your pickie indicates that there is little room between the objective lens and the breech, but then again, reality is never the same as a picture...
Those are two lovely old target rifles, thanks for posting the pics. I for one wish that more people would put up shots of collectible Dianas here.
I believe the gun with the adjustable cheekpiece is the model 75HV. The 75U had a more rounded stock with a wide rounded fore end. Same action, stocks very similar in concept and function, but rather different in appearance.
The model 75 has a relatively long receiver tube due to the twin-piston action. It is a bit more scope-friendly than many sidelever target guns.
Here is a page from a Diana catalog showing most of the model 75 line.
The T01 designation was given to later models with an improved trigger and other small improvements.
I have a Dianawerk 75 (acquired in the early l980's) that I have used with a Leopold 36x scope to shoot flies on a target 25m away. I smeared the target with jam to attract the flies. The rifle neatly put a pellet between their wings at the distance. Because the air rifle is side cocking, the scope has no effect on loading.
However, I need information from anyone on where to get the DW 75 repaired. It no longer fires, I think because the leather on the piston dried out.
