I am in Australia,and have a couple of Diana airguns, a 34 in .22 and a 52 in .177.
Anyways, performance in the 34 has been lacking, and I have found a broken spring. on both ends, approx 4 coils broken off.
2 questions,
How much will this affect the performance?
What is your reccomendations for a replacement?
The gun I purchased in 1988, has performed flawlessly, and I really can't say a bad word about it.
Might pay to spend a few shillings and replace some other internals.(seals etc)

I ask your advice in good faith
Cheers.

No problem

Hello,

If you change the spring it might be advisable to change the piston seal and the breech seal as well.

I suppose you can bring the rifle to a gunsmith to do this for you or you can order these parts and install them yourself.
If you do it yourself you should also have the right greases to apply on the internals.

Should you want detailed instructions on how to take apart a 34, I can send this to you via email.

Keep well,

Joris

I replaced the factory

mainspring in my 34 .22 with an HW57(Weihrauch)spring. I did so in the hopes of a smoother shot cycle and was willing to take a loss in power to do so. What I ended up with was the smooth shot cycle I wanted, but took no loss in power. It's no hammer at 14-15fpe but it's enough out of the rifle for me. It's always been an accurate rifle but now it's a sweet shooter with less recoil, torque, no vibration, and reduced cocking effort. I've got about 1000rnds on the Weihrauch spring with no sign of weekening and the rifle is alot more enjoyable. HTH,

Mulby
