Is there any way to tell, without disassebly, which trigger a Diana has? Are there markings? Do the stamps for date of manufacture tell anything about what trigger assembly is used?
I understand that the T01 (ball version) and T05 (current version) are much better than the others. Is this true in your experience?
48 in .177 stamped 11 '01 - T01
48 in .22 stamped 05 '02 - T01
34 in .22 stamped 09 '02 - no T0# but appears to be the T01 by the presance of the second adjustment screw.
24 in .22 stamped 09 '02 - T05
24 in .177 stamped 04 '03 - T05
It would seem that there was a transision from T01 to T05 in September of 2002, at least that's what I can see in the .22 24 and .22 34 rifles that I have. Or, it could be completely model based. I did on the other hand have the pleasure of shooting a new 34 in .177 a while back that was stamped '03(can't remember the month)and it had the T05 designation. I also noticed that a 48 stamped '03 had the T05 disignation while my '02 version 48 has the T01.
It would be nice to hear from someone who has a Diana that is older than 2002 production to see what T0# is on there model. HTH,
are inconsistent. None of my T01 versions (2 model 38's, a Model 35, and a Model 52 Luxus) have T markings. Diana may have stamped some older guns, e.g., Model 75's as To1's, etc. But for the most part, this appears to be a recent trend.
As Mike Driscoll has pointed out in the past, the T marking are not necessarily trigger related, but nevertheless do seem to coincide with changes to the triggers ... for the most part anyway. And Diana itself has a habit of referring to its triggers as T01, 02 etc. Maybe just to avoid confusion, I don't know.
Which of the T01 and T05 is considered to be the bets of the two?

Which of the T01 and T05 is considered to be the bets of the two? And how light can you adjust these triggers from 3.3lb to 1lb or can you go down to even lighter lets say to 8oz like the AA's CD trigger or Beemans Rekord triggers?
Thanks good answer, on another note how light or precise can you make T01 r TO5.

Thanks good answer, on another note how light or precise can you make T01 r TO5. It comes from the factor 3.3lbs can you reduce it to 1.5lbs or ligter using both trigger screws and just using just the screw closest to the butt how fine can you make the trigger in lbs or oz for a general written measure of trigger feel.
So far I like the trigger on my RWS 46, but I will fine tune it after testing for the best pellet.
stamped on the metal receiver (body-tube) . left side . near and towards the end cap . you will see two small sets of two numbers . the first two numbers are the month , last two numbers are the year , of manufacture for that particular gun .
