Hello,

I'm going to get myself a magnum springer.
I know about magnumitis and it being it bad thing and that I will finally come back to my Diana 25 (.177) or, at the most, my Diana 34 (.22) or my Weihrauch 77 (.25).
But magnumitis is a stage we all have to get through, I guess. It itches and the actual cure seems to be the acquisition.

So I narrowed the choice down to the 350 (.22) and the 48 (.25).
I know Whitleather made a very good review on the big bore 48, but as I have a HW77 in that caliber... I don't know.
Anybody any advice?

Thanks!

Joris

magnumitis ?

bla, magnum springers rock, period.
Super flat trajectory and hard hitting pellets ...
The only "drawback" is the getting used to the recoil

I own a 350 M, the recoil is considerable for an airgun, but with a scope attached that recoil is cut in half because of that little extra weight .
That extra 450 grams really makes a big difference and it hardly kicks any harder then any medium springer.

BUT, the 48 only puts out 1 or 2 foot/pound less then the 350M ...

It costs a little more, but i honestly think the quality is a little better then the 350 M .
The wood finish on my 350 M is not all that great, and it squeeked when cocking in the beginning .
I took it apart the first day i got it to put some molybdeen grease on the seal.
The spring also has a massive amount of pre-load (4 inches)so my guess is springs will not last very long in the 350 M .

They dont make tune-kits for the 350 Magnum, they do make tune kits/springs for the 48 (Titan springs, Maccari springs)

Since you are already choosing between those two, and you didnt fall in love with the 350's looks and the 350 bragging rights of being the most powerfull diana springer, id suggest the 48 for you ...

Check out www.straightshooters.com .... They have reviews and velocity results of both the 350 and the 48

The HW80K tuned or R1 you would have power, quality, and its compact, the 350 is to long, the 48 is to clumsy but still nice airguns I know. the 34S highly tuned is also very nice

My 48 in .22

makes 22fpe with JSB Exacts 5.52 15.9gr. Makes for some serious long range fun! I like the super-magnums, magnums, mid-magnums, medium-power, low-power, and yes even the didlers making as little as ~3fpe, mostly springers in .22 and .177 with a touch of MSP's and SSP's...oh, and one gas rammer!

They are all good, and I can shoot my 48's as well as my 24's! Once you find the right hold/pellet you should have no problems hitting what you aim at. Have fun,

Mulby

i vote for

the 350. I own a 48 and a 350 among others, and although it would be hard, I think if I had to give them all away and keep just 1 it would be the 350- fit & finish are great, powr and accuracy too. and the break barrel gives it just a slight leg up on the clumsier to load sidelevers. It is a long gun and feels it, but I would still choose the 350 over the 48. just my 0.02...
