It is suddenly clear that the trigger is foul.
Originally I purchased my 54 in .22 with a Vortec sear installed. It was super. I shot my self into AA class with regular scores in the 30s and a couple in the 40s (one more 40 in NRA indoor silhouette competition and I will be bumped into AAA class).
Well the Vortec sear started going bad or something. The gun became unsafe to shoot. I sent it off to a well-known tuner for a trigger repair or replacement. I honestly don't know what was done, but NOW I cannot shoot above a 16. The trigger never breaks in the same place twice. That means I have to punch it to get it to break when I want it to.
From a sand bag I can still shoot a perfect score. From off hand I cannot do crap. My scores with rimfire are still in the usual 40 point range, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with my stance or concentration.
Just venting.
