I'm not sure if it is threaded but a close look at mine and a buddies does show some evidence that it may be threaded in and not pressed. What are you going to change it for or to for that matter. I wouldn't mind putting a Walther barrel on my 54 down the road to see if it improves consitent accuracy. If you find out how the barrel is installed post it so we can all see.
Please dont get me wrong, walther barrels rock! but so does rws barrels. All rws barrels that i have seen have a choked barrel. Why replace a good barrel with another good barrel?
I have read reports from experienced airgunsmiths that
these barrels are pressed in and are not easy to change. Fortunately, this is usually of no consequence, since that fine original Diana barrel is top shelf anyway.
i only ask because in the front 15 cm of the barrel i have a bend /its broken
i wonder if i should cut it in the turning lathe and eventuelly rechoke it?.
anyone who have experiance about shortning the barrel on diana 52?
I think the barrel on my 54 is pressed in because I can see the splines at the bottom of the hole where the ends of the anti bear-trap ratchet spring locates.
