1990 Diana 34 Info + Safety Question

Hi All.

I should have a 1990 Diana 34 0.22 complete with its open sites by some time next week.

I like to prepare so I have a number of questions I am hoping the Collective can help with.

1. Would this rifle have the “loose ball” trigger that’s notoriously hard to get back together?
2. Were can I find some instructions for re-assembling the trigger or even better a full strip and tune up?
3. Can I expect the barrel to have a choke? I’d like to do a significant barrel chop and add a silencer (legal in UK).

Safety.

I’m thinking of experimenting with a shortened stroke, this should enable me to keep reasonable pre-load on the spring yet still stay under 12 FPE. To do it I would need to cut the button off the front of the piston and replace it with one that is screwed on. This would require that I drill and tap a hole in the center of the pistons front face, is this going to so weaken the piston that the rod might rip out under spring pressure?

Many Thanks Ora
