The maintenance instructions with my new 48 are somewhat lacking. The manual tells you what to oil and how often, but doesn't tell you where to oil. For example, it says to use one drop of compression chamber oil every 2500 rounds and to oil the mainspring occasionally. Great, but exactly how do I apply the chamber oil, just put a drop down the hole in the middle of the bolt face, the one that encloses the breech end of the barrel? Do I have to remove the stock in order to get to the mainspring for oiling? There's even an exploded diagram of the gun, complete with numbered parts, but no list of part names to go with the numbers. I've sent an email to RWS with these same questions and gotten no response, so I figured I'd ask the experts.
I just posted a quick answer to your question on SS

I see you've emailed RWS. I'd suggest you call then on the phone and talk to their technical people. I ususally don't get email repsonses for several weeks or months.
1.) Don't use chamber lube directly into the compression tube hole.
2.) The mainspring in a 48 is almost impossible to get at without dissassembly.
I found this site, don't remember how or where, but its got some pretty good AG demos and info. Wanted to post on SS but K said no because of the links to their competitors.
