The spring in my RWS 54 has finally bitten the dust after 6500 shots! Is this the normal life span of a spring for this gun? What results have any of you other spring gunners found on spring life? Put the new spring and piston in with newly manufactured Delrin guide tube (tight fit) and a steel top hat on the spring. Shoots real well and now much quiter!
Velocities went from 800 to 845 fps with 14.5 gr pellets.

Great LT,
did you install the Diana spring? Derlin guide is a great idea and works very well. If you have the possibility make also a top hat in derlin: it will help a lot reducing the reaction spring (less SBROOOING).

Ciao,
Maurizio.

The next time I pull the gun apart for maintenance I will machine a Delrin top hat and give it a try.
Thx
