I just purchased a Diana model 34 airgun, .177 caliber. It seems to have plenty of power, but I'm having some trouble getting any real accuracy out of it...my dad noticed that the ring (O-ring?) that surrounds the point where the pellet is inserted has a nick (it looks as if it was hit with something) in it at the bottom end. Will this effect the velocity or accuracy of the air rifle?
at least 1,000 pellets before you can judge how accurate it ( and you ) are .
Dureing that time you will have had a chance to practice a light hold (flat palm ) just in front of the trigger guard ...as any magnum springer is hold sensitive ..and you must practice holding it the same way with each shot .
It may diesel for a few shots initially ..but that is temporary ...and it will settle down .
experimenting with different pellets will allow you to discover which one it likes , try JSB exacts
RWS superdomes and Beeman FTS's ..they seem to work well in a lot of Dianas.
The nick on the bottom of the o ring ..is due to it being pinched between the breech block and the reciever , notice that it swings in and the bottom side is squished more than the top ..it should not affect anything ...and as soon as you change it the new one will look the same .
You can get most good pellets @ D& L Airgun in Langley, good people to deal with and no problems. Try their web site and see if they have what you want, if not I'm sure they can get it for you.

Check your stock forearm screws that they are tight. You can use blue lock tight on them or get a screw cup kit from Mac1. Clean bore with goo gone. After about 1000 pellets or so. Take it a part and lube with Molly. I put in a JM spring kit in mine to me it made it smoother.
